Daeyeon Station udon shop, solo bukkake with croquette: Misikga-ui

I was looking for a good place to eat alone near Daeyeon Station, so I stopped by Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch (미식가의 우동 대연직영점).

I figured it was an udon place, so just a light meal, right? But the sides were better than I expected and the fried food was in great shape, so I want to record it properly!

Where is Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, and what's the vibe?

Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch is right in front of Daeyeon Station Exit 6, so it's easy to find. The building is big, and since it's literally in front of Exit 6, you can't miss it 🤣 There were plenty of people eating alone, plus quite a few groups of friends.

Solo seating: bar table and partitioned tables

The moment you walk in, the interior has a Japanese restaurant feel. There's a bar table that's no pressure if you come alone, and tables with partitions too, so it's comfortable to eat.

Along one wall, a row of awards and certificates was on display, and I thought, huh, they must do a lot of community work too‼️

Self-serve bar and high chairs

The self-serve bar had water and coffee, and there are high chairs for kids too, so it works for family visits.

What's on the menu at Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch?

The menu has not just udon but also tonkatsu (pork cutlet), rice bowls and soba, so there's more variety than you'd think. Choosing took me a while, haha. But it's not just me~~~~ everyone does that, haha

Add-ons for the à la carte bukkake udon

Still, I came today because I wanted bukkake udon (udon with concentrated broth poured over), so I ordered the à la carte bukkake udon first, then added curry rice, shrimp tempura and a potato croquette. I get tired of fried food quickly, so I also paid ₩500 extra for spicy sauce!

I looked around to settle into the place. I came in right when it opened and it was quiet at first, but customers kept coming in. It seems to be a favorite for neighborhood residents and local office workers.

How long is the wait for bukkake udon?

The menu says bukkake udon takes about 20 minutes. So you have plenty of time to look around~

The bukkake udon spread and ₩1,900 draft beer

With the à la carte bukkake udon and all the add-ons laid out, it was a hearty spread‼️ Oh no.. can I finish all this.. Udon, curry, potato croquette, shrimp tempura and even salad, that's an enormous meal 🫣

And Misikga-ui's signature ₩1,900 draft beer is available too, so the spread is complete 🤣

Potato croquette: crispy outside, fluffy inside, great with spicy sauce

I start with the potato croquette.

The croquette is crispy outside and fluffy inside, so I bet kids would love it! I dipped it lightly in the spicy sauce I ordered separately, and it wasn't greasy at all and went really well.

Shrimp tempura: long, with a crunchy coating

The shrimp tempura was long and big, so it looked incredibly appetizing.

I ate it quickly so it wouldn't cool down, and the coating was so crunchy the texture basically said, "I am tempura" hahahaha The tartar sauce went well too, but I still prefer dipping in the spicy sauce.

Respect my taste! And then I tried the salad late and ate quite a bit, wow, it's so good.

Cabbage salad with yuja dressing, and curry rice

The salad is super fresh cabbage with yuja (citron) dressing, and the texture, taste and aroma are very good!! I thought the curry would be just a side, but there was quite a lot of it 🤤

A soft-cooked egg, fried up to order, comes on top, making it an even more filling meal. If udon alone feels like not enough, order it together!

It doesn't taste like instant three-minute curry, it's a really rich curry.

How does the bukkake udon at Misikga-ui taste?

The star of Misikga-ui Udon Daeyeon Direct Branch, the bukkake udon, has bouncy noodles and a mild seasoning. And finally, today's main event, the bukkake udon‼️

You pour the broth over, mix it all together and eat.. wow, the noodles are so bouncy!!!

The chewy texture lasts the more you bite, so I get why bukkake udon is this place's best seller‼️ The seasoning isn't strong either, so you don't get tired of it and can eat it comfortably to the end.

The downside: I ordered too much for one person

But I was way too full. I ordered too much 🤣 If you're eating alone, bukkake udon plus one or two sides seems about right.

Another good meal today.
