Daegu date restaurant with gamberi shrimp pilaf for two: Resting07

Right in the middle of Dongseong-ro, Daegu's blind-date central, I found a hidden gem of a pasta restaurant !! It's Resting07, and the vibe was so good it's completely perfect as a Dongseong-ro date spot too.. this is my honest review of Resting07, a Dongseong-ro pasta place that's basically a guaranteed win if you bring your girlfriend here ~~

Where is Resting07, and where do you park? Gukchaebosang Memorial Park public lot

Resting07 sits right next to the Bosang Memorial Park (국채보상운동 기념공원, a park commemorating the National Debt Repayment Movement). It's about a 10-minute walk from either Banwoldang or Jungangno station. I drove, and parked at the Bosang Memorial Park public parking lot. It's probably the cheapest, most pleasant large parking lot downtown.. plus compact and eco-friendly cars get a discount, so there's no reason not to go there haha. I parked for just over an hour and the fee came out to ₩1,600 haha.

Anyway, Resting07 has no lot of its own, so it's best to park at the Bosang Memorial Park public lot or just take public transit! The restaurant itself is on the 2nd floor.

Inside Resting07: the interior and the private room seats

The interior of Resting07 has that feel of, this is exactly how I'd decorate my place if I ever buy a house lol. The white and wood tones felt so cozy and warm, and the lighting — natural light plus indirect lighting — was soft and lovely. I bet the K-boyfriends of this era, who have to nail the vibe too, can't go wrong bringing a date to Resting07 in Dongseong-ro !! haha

Resting07 has 9 tables in total — 2 window tables, 3 private room tables, and 4 in the main hall — each seating around 4 people, and the rooms are bigger than expected, looking like they could fit up to 6. Since the rooms are set up privately, you can enjoy anniversaries or blind dates without worrying about other people looking!! Somehow having a blind date here makes the other person seem even more impressive,,?? haha

We came in a bit early in the evening so we got lucky and ate in a room, but by the time we finished and left, all the rooms were full — so if you might need one, I'd recommend booking ahead.

The Resting07 menu and what ₩40,000 bought for two

Resting07's main menu is steak, pasta, risotto, and pilaf. Everything looked delicious so it was tough to choose.ㅜ haha

There's a wide range of drinks too, plus lots of alcohol like beer and champagne, so pick whatever suits your taste !!

Here's what we ordered !! If you join the receipt review event you can choose between a drink, salad, or corn cheese, and we picked the mini salad as our freebie haha. So with the salad, pasta and pilaf course, plus potato gratin and ade, it all came to just ₩40,000 — is that even legal these days with how expensive everything is... I get why it's known as a blind-date spot

Once you order, they bring out cold water and a simple pre-meal bread, and the food follows soon after.

Ahh!!! I waited a bit so I could fit everything on the table at once haha. Pretty much everything came out at the same time haha

Fresh grapefruit ade, which I liked even more for not being too sweet, and handmade pickles !!

The pre-meal salad had a balsamic-based dressing so it was tangy and perfect for whetting the appetite. The vegetables being fresh made it even better.

How the steak in Resting07's cream pasta was cooked

The steak doneness in the cream pasta was insane.... it made me think I absolutely have to order the steak on its own next time I visit Resting07 — it was the best doneness ever ㅠㅠㅠ not to mention the savory cream!! The noodles were cooked soft too, so it disappeared in no time haha

Dipping the steak into the cheesy potato gratin was heavenly lol. Kind of like that cheesy mashed potato garnish that comes as a side with steak? I highly recommend this combo.

The best dish of the night: gamberi shrimp pilaf

The gamberi pilaf had a ton of huge shrimp in it. A lot of places serve a 'shrimp pilaf' with just a few tiny shrimp thrown in and call it that in name only, but Resting07's shrimp pilaf had really plump, generous shrimp haha, and on top of that the pilaf itself was nutty and the rice grains were soft and just right haha

Cream pasta has always been my go-to favorite, but this pilaf turned out to be even better than expected, so this pilaf was the best dish of this meal for me !! You should definitely order it

We finished it all lol. For two big eaters, even 4 dishes weren't enough,. Next time I'll have to order the pizza and steak too..^__^ Thanks for the meal, Resting07 — my recommendation for a Dongseong-ro blind date spot ~~
