Hey hey hey! Have you heard of 'Palette Hannam,' a Western-food restaurant on Dongseong-ro in Daegu? It's held its ground as a local institution on Dongseong-ro, a street where it's hard for restaurants to survive long-term. Remember those videos from a few years back of omurice being sliced open with fluffy egg spilling out? I remember Palette Hannam Daegu Dongseong-ro Branch being one of the first places in Daegu where you could try that exact omurice :)

Palette Hannam Daegu Dongseong-ro Branch is within 5 minutes' walk of Jungangno Station Exit 2, and it's also very close to Spark Land near 228 Park, so accessibility is great! Even the exterior is floor-to-ceiling glass, which gave it a really nice atmosphere right off the bat :)
The interior really has a great vibe, so it seems like a good spot for dates or blind dates, and also great for group gatherings or wedding invitation meetups. All the tables seat four, with pretty generous spacing between them so you can chat comfortably, and the window seats looked like they'd have a really pretty view in the evening haha

Our full spread arrived! Just looking at the plating, it was so upscale and clean-looking, great for photos. The shrimp rosé pizza is a thin-crust pizza brushed with rosé sauce and topped with spicy shrimp and bacon, and fresh out of the oven the cheese pulled beautifully.
It was such a light pizza that you keep reaching for more🍕👍🏻 The shrimp were really plump, and I barely tasted the rosé sauce — it really let the ingredients' natural flavor shine. It's the kind of clean, delicious pizza that's hard to find at Western restaurants these days, so I enjoyed it a lot,
Whole garlic bacon alio olio, 13,900 won: why the capellini works
You guys, this whole garlic bacon alio olio smelled amazing just from the name, so I ordered it, and this dish has some real charm haha. Whoa!!!! Not exactly a crazy dopamine hit of flavor, but the mild taste of olive oil, the saltiness of the bacon, and the crunchy texture of whole garlic cloves all came together into something plain yet, somehow, you keep going back for more — a clean flavor :) Totally recommend🔥🔥🔥
Unusually, this place doesn't use regular pasta noodles — they use capellini, which is thinner than pasta, so it feels both like noodles and like pasta, a really charming dish. Definitely order it haha
Hamburg steak, 16,900 won: a handmade patty with deep beef flavor
The first bite of the hamburg steak really surprised me — it seemed to be 100% meat. You know that flour-mixed-with-meat taste that's typical of cheap hamburg steaks? Most places serve a hamburg steak that tastes like fake meat rather than 100% meat, but this one seems to be handmade. The meat flavor was so rich that I got really full after finishing just one 👍🏻👍🏻
After paying, the friendly staff at the counter even gave us Haribo gummies.
The staff are really kind, and with both the food and the atmosphere on point, Palette Hannam Daegu Dongseong-ro Branch is worth a visit!
