Today I'm introducing Ichigyu Balsan Station Branch for anyone looking for gyukatsu near Balsan Station!
Where Ichigyu Balsan Station Branch is, and can you hold a wedding-invitation gathering here?
Ichigyu is a 2-minute walk from Exit 1 of Balsan Station, on the 2nd floor of Hillstate Eco Magok! This is already my 4th visit haha!!
I actually had my wedding-invitation gathering here recently~~ You might think, a gyukatsu place for that?! But the interior atmosphere is really nice, so it's a great spot for it haha
Best time to skip the wait at Ichigyu, and solo dining with a personal grill
If you go late, Ichigyu Balsan Station Branch can have a wait, so I went right around 5pm, just as break time ended! When we got there, one table was already occupied by someone dining solo!
I want to try eating alone here next time haha. Since everyone gets their own little grill, it's the perfect setup for solo dining!
Ordering Set 1 at Ichigyu: gyukatsu set meal for two, Kirin draft next time
We ordered the Set 1 menu, which gives both of us the gyukatsu set! Every time I come to Ichigyu I get the gyukatsu set haha. It's just so good..❤️ Knowing exactly how good it is makes it even more exciting haha
The hamburg omurice and steak-don looked so good too, I'll have to order those next time I visit (if I can resist the pull of gyukatsu..?!)
Ichigyu sells Kirin draft beer and I really wanted some.. but I held off since I'm pregnant ㅠㅠ Definitely getting Kirin draft next time! It reminds me of my friend at the wedding-invitation gathering saying the Kirin draft was so good haha
QR ordering at Ichigyu and the free fried shrimp for a receipt review
The menu can also be ordered by QR code like this, but I'm an analog person so I just ordered through the staff haha.. I should try the QR ordering next time! It seems like more and more restaurants are switching to QR ordering these days — the world's getting smarter and smarter~~~ haha
It looks like they also give you free fried shrimp if you leave a receipt review! We were too full to participate haha. If you love fried shrimp, take part in the event and get the freebie!!
How much food is in Ichigyu's gyukatsu set meal, with free rice refills?
The rice came out first, and it was so fluffy that it was delicious even on its own lol. Rice refills are free, so refill as much as you need!

The portion was bigger than I expected, plenty to fill up even a guy! And since the rice is unlimited, with the doenjang soup and rice too, you can eat until you're completely full!

How to grill gyukatsu: butter on the tabletop grill, one slice at a time
You brush a bit of butter onto the grill and place the gyukatsu on top to cook it! No need to rush — it was actually fun grilling each piece slowly at my own pace, one at a time, on the grill haha
My husband and I grilled two pieces each in perfect harmony lol. He said he'd had donkatsu (pork cutlet) for lunch that day and there was no comparison lol, this became his personal best gyukatsu ever haha. And honestly, out of all the gyukatsu I've had, Ichigyu Balsan Station Branch is my number one ㅜㅜ!!
The thrill of rich juices bursting out from inside a thin, crispy coating⭐️ The outside shatters light and crisp, then immediately your mouth fills with juicy, tender beef — a perfect balance!
Salt, wasabi or chili sauce — which works best with gyukatsu?
I loved it dipped in chili sauce or topped with wasabi, while my husband said salt was the best! I think you should just pick whichever sauce suits your taste haha
