Today I went back to Tteudon Magok Branch, the pork cutlet restaurant near Magok Station by the Seoul Botanic Park. Honestly, this is a place I visit really often, and if you ask me which restaurant near Magok Station is the best, this is the one I'd point to.

Sitting on the second floor of a building near the station, Tteudon Magok Branch is a place I think families with kids should really try at least once.
That's how good the pork cutlet is here. So today I went in again for a meal.
Inside Tteudon Magok Branch: a wide hall that fits big groups
The interior of Tteudon Magok Branch is very spacious. The gaps between seats are wider and more comfortable than at any other restaurant I know.
There are also plenty of seats, so group dining is possible. The vibe is a bit ambiguous for a work dinner, but for a family meal, I can't think of a better atmosphere.
How far do the side dishes go? Tteokbokki, soup and dinner rolls
The biggest feature of Tteudon Magok Branch is just how many side dishes come with the meal. First, the basics: pickled radish, kkakdugi (spicy cubed radish kimchi), and cucumber pickles.
On top of that, you also get quite spicy tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), and every single time I come here, I think the tteokbokki is as good as what you'd get at a dedicated tteokbokki spot.
And on top of that, they also serve soup — for kids who love mixing rice into soup, there's no better side dish. My own kid mixes rice into the soup every single time we come.
And that's still not the end. They also give you dinner rolls with jam, and this comes free as standard.
Today I again scooped up spicy tteokbokki, soup, and various side dishes.
The tteokbokki at Tteudon Magok Branch is just spicy enough, very chewy, and delicious. Taking a bite of this spicy little kick before the pork cutlet arrives makes for a great appetizer.
Going with kids: the playroom and high chairs at Tteudon Magok Branch
I want to say Tteudon Magok Branch is really good to visit with kids, for many reasons, but one big one is the kids' playroom. There's an arcade machine and all sorts of toys, and kids absolutely love it.
And of course, for the little ones, they also have plenty of baby chairs ready.
Old-style pork cutlet: thick meat under a crisp coating
Among the many pork cutlet menu items, I went with the old-style pork cutlet at Tteudon Magok Branch. Their old-style cutlet really has that classic, fundamental taste, so if you haven't been, I'd recommend starting with this one.
I think this cutlet really lets you feel what truly crispy pork cutlet is. Eating it again today, I felt it once more — this is a taste with real substance.
The meat inside is very thick yet tender, while the outside stays crispy, so you get to feel both softness and crunch at the same time in this cutlet.
On top of that, the sauce is so tasty it wins over even the kids.
What does the signature Tteudon taste like?
Of course, the signature menu item, Tteudon, is also really delicious. The sauce here is a bit different — there's a touch of sweetness layered into it, and I think it's a flavor anyone, of any age, can enjoy.
I actually visit here with my kid, and sometimes with my parents too, and because this is a flavor that satisfies people of any age, I've seen every single family member enjoy it happily.
Today, once again, I watched my kid happily mix rice into the soup, and eat the pork cutlet with just as much enjoyment.

Tteudon Magok Branch even has dessert ready to go. There are as many as four flavors of ice cream, and you can help yourself to as much as you want. It's really excellent value for money.
Soup, bread, and tteokbokki to start, then a truly delicious pork cutlet, and finally ice cream for dessert — that's Tteudon Magok Branch!
