Worang Myeongga, the hanwoo butcher restaurant near Yuseong Oncheon Station
Worang Myeongga Daejeon Yuseong Main Branch (워낭명가 대전유성본점) is a hanwoo butcher restaurant in Bongmyeong-dong, near Yuseong Oncheon Station. Dad was craving hanwoo, so I looked around and picked this place. Since it's a butcher restaurant, you can see and choose the meat yourself, and above all the beef was in great shape, so we were happy with it 🥩

Getting to Worang Myeongga and parking
The restaurant is close to Exit 8 of Yuseong Oncheon Station, so it's easy to reach by public transport! It's also a good spot when you have plans in Bongmyeong-dong, haha.
For a big restaurant like this, parking really matters, and there's a lot in front of the building! For a place right in the middle of Bongmyeong-dong, having parking was a big plus 👍
If the lot in front is full, you can use the AJ Park lot across the street, and they reportedly offer 2 hours of parking support!
The building is quite large, so it wasn't hard to find once we got close!
Atmosphere and private rooms
The interior feels upscale and clean! Tables are spaced widely and divided by partitions, so it feels fairly private. There's regular hall seating and separate rooms too, so if you're coming with a group, like a family meal, gathering or company dinner, I'd recommend booking a room! (There were only two of us, so we sat in the hall.)

Worang Myeongga is a butcher restaurant, so there's a separate meat counter where you can pick your beef as soon as you walk in. This is where the meat sightseeing begins.. 🤤

There's a wide range of hanwoo, from the Worang platter to the special platter, the spesial platter and ribeye, each priced by composition and weight. You just look and choose according to your group size and how much you want to eat!
They also have regular meal dishes. Grilled beef can be a little heavy for lunch, but with such a varied meal menu, lunch looks doable here too!
Does Worang Myeongga serve raw beef as a side dish?
Yes! Yuksashimi (raw beef) came out as a standard side dish. Ta-da! I never expected that..😯 The other side dishes were neat and tasty too.
The self-bar is amazing too. A generous self-bar that even has fruit, thumbs up 👍 I love mushrooms, so I grilled some alongside the beef.
Worang platter grilled over charcoal
What Dad and I ordered was 🥩 the Worang platter! As the name suggests, it lets you try several cuts at once. When we looked at the meat at the counter, it just looked so good!
Maybe because it's a butcher restaurant, the meat looked really fresh and the marbling was pretty, so I was excited even before grilling 🤤
We put it on the charcoal and grilled it just right without overcooking. The beef was tender and the juiciness really came through. Hanwoo is the best, the best‼️
It goes well with myeongi-namul (pickled wild greens) too, but I wanted to taste the beef's flavor more, so I only had it once, haha.
Because it's a platter, each cut had a slightly different taste and texture, which I liked! I like to try a bit of everything, so going with the platter felt like a good choice.
And finally~ the heart-shaped piece that only good people can see ❤️
Finishing hanwoo with bibim naengmyeon
Can you really resist cold noodles after meat?! When the platter is almost gone and you're feeling a little greasy, bibimnaengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) is a must!
Eating a leftover piece of hanwoo with the spicy, tangy noodles was, as always, a combo that never fails 🤤
Who is Worang Myeongga recommended for?
The best thing about Worang Myeongga was that, as a butcher restaurant, you can see and choose fresh hanwoo yourself! Of course the taste was top-notch too 👍👍 The table spread is quite generous, and with its large space and rooms, it looks like a good choice for a family meal with your parents or a company dinner.
