Sejong Indian restaurant: lamb korma lunch with Mom at Bombay Brew
In short
Bombay Brew is an Indian restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building near the Saetteum Village apartments in Saerom-dong, Sejong, where Indian chefs do the cooking. On a weekday lunch with her mom, the writer ordered one set menu for one person plus a single lamb korma, and both the lamb korma and the prawn masala were mild on spice and suited Korean tastes. Verdict: at Bombay Brew, dip the big naan in the curry rather than eating it over the turmeric rice.

I visited Bombay Brew in Sejong, an Indian restaurant where real Indian chefs do the cooking! The atmosphere is classy and the curry and naan were delicious, so it was good on both counts. Bombay Brew is near the Saettem Village apartments in Saerom-dong, Sejong.
How does parking work at Bombay Brew?
You can use the building's basement parking, so parking was no trouble at all. When you leave, just tell the counter and they'll apply the free parking.

After parking in the basement, head up to the 2nd floor and you'll find the Bombay Brew entrance.

There's a menu at the entrance too, so you can check it before you go in.
Inside Bombay Brew
The interior is clean and upscale. I liked the calm, dark wood tables and chairs, and the refreshing view through the big windows.
The space is wide with plenty of seats, so it looks good for families and fine for a date too. We sat at a nice window seat.
It was a humid day, so I had a cold glass of water. The owner is actually Indian! He understands us when we talk in Korean and answers in Korean. One side of the room displays a wide variety of wines.
Bombay Brew weekday lunch set menu

On weekday lunchtimes, Bombay Brew offers lunch sets at a lower price! The prices on the menu are per person.
- Deli set: curry (choose one of butter chicken, mixed vegetable, lamb curry, prawn masala) + naan (choose one of classic, butter, garlic) + turmeric rice + chicken salad + drink (choose one of classic lassi, blueberry lassi, mango lassi, Coke, Sprite)
- Bombay set: the deli set with tandoori chicken added

There are also single curry and naan items, and the variety is huge.

Can you order one set plus a single curry?
At Bombay Brew you can combine one set per person with an extra single curry. We were curious about the set and also drawn to lamb curry, so we picked one set and one curry. We asked, and they said that was fine~

Other sets and single items at Bombay Brew
There's a special set and a couple set,

plus a 3-person set and a 4-person set, so the sets come in lots of variations.

If you want steak, there's a lamb chop set too.

Fish tikka seems to be an Indian-style fish dish. There's a fish tikka set as well.

You can also order chicken or steak on its own. The vegetarian snack looks like a vegan option. There's a kids' menu too, so it looks good for families.

Naan and rice can be added separately. Naan is a traditional Indian bread baked in a 270-degree tandoor (clay oven) in a leaf shape.

Lassi (Indian-style yogurt drink) and the drinks menu.

Alcohol like wine and beer is listed too.

The last page has the salad menu.
Blueberry lassi and the side dishes
The bright pink drink I chose with the set is a blueberry lassi! It's moderately sweet and tasty, great to sip throughout the meal. The flavor is a bit different from Korean yogurt drinks, smooth and sweet. I'm curious about the mango lassi too.
The side dishes are jalapeño pickles and radish pickles. Fresh and tangy!
Is the chicken salad in the set heavily spiced?

In the Bombay Brew set, the salad comes out first. It had fresh cucumber, lettuce, olives and chicken, a well-balanced, tasty salad. It was great for whetting the appetite before the meal.

No need to worry that Indian food means strong spices here. It's just a normal, tasty salad.
How do the lamb korma, prawn masala and naan taste?

Next come the curry and naan, and the naan at Bombay Brew is quite big. It's wide and flat, shaped like pizza dough.

The orange curry is lamb korma, a lamb curry. It's smooth and nutty with a yogurt sauce base! The red curry is prawn masala, a shrimp curry with a tomato-sauce flavor made to the traditional recipe.

They lit a candle under each curry, so we could eat it warm throughout the meal.

Lamb korma: sweet, mellow lamb curry
The lamb korma has tender lamb inside, and the curry sauce itself is sweet and mellow, a crowd-pleasing, easygoing, delicious sauce. It was sweet and good without any harsh spice taste. The tender lamb soaked in sauce was delicious too.

Prawn masala: tangy, mildly spicy shrimp curry
The prawn masala has a slightly spicy tomato sauce flavor and is packed with shrimp, so it has a different charm from the lamb korma! It isn't sweet, but it's tangy and a little spicy, so if you dislike rich, heavy flavors, the prawn masala is good too.
Classic naan and garlic naan
The classic naan is chewy and soft, so it's delicious just torn by hand and eaten plain, and it was a treat soaked deep in the curry sauce. The garlic naan is baked with garlic sauce spread on it, so there's a subtle garlic aroma that I liked.
Both the lamb korma and the prawn masala are delicious curries that suit Korean tastes, so I think either choice is fine. My mom said she liked the lamb korma better. The sauce is addictive, so we kept dipping the naan.

Mix it into turmeric rice, or dip the naan?
The Bombay Brew set also comes with turmeric rice, so I tried mixing it into the curry sauce.

It tasted like a fancy curry, different from the curry rice I make at home, a fresh, exotic flavor! Yet the spices aren't strong, so it suits Korean tastes too. Still, it tasted better with naan than mixed into rice.
The set includes salad, lassi and turmeric rice, so the portion is generous and you get to taste a bit of everything, which I liked. Indian food isn't common, so it may feel a little unfamiliar, but having tried it, the dishes were charming and delicious.
