While I was in Seongsu, I started thinking about the ice cream I'd enjoyed there before, so this time I went back to the Seongsu dessert spot Mellows on purpose.

Last time I just stumbled onto it while walking around Seongsu on a hot day, and the ice cream was better than I expected, so it stuck with me. This time, since I was in Seongsu anyway, I thought, "Shall I have that ice cream again?" and dropped by.
How close is Mellows to Ttukseom Station?
Mellows is about a 3-minute walk from Exit 7 of Ttukseom Station, so it wasn't hard to find. There are tables outside the café too, and when the weather is nice you can see people sitting out there, taking their time with dessert.

It looked like a nice place to soak up that Seongsu atmosphere and take a short break. Inside, it isn't a big café, but the space is divided up smartly, so it felt more comfortable than I expected.

What caught my eye was the wall, which lists the ice cream menu along with each flavor's character and tips on how to enjoy it best. The wood-feel walls and brown chairs go well together, making the whole place warm and cozy.

What is Mellows ice cream made of?
One thing I like is that Mellows makes its ice cream with Sangha Farm (상하목장) organic milk. Last time, too, it tasted smooth and high-quality, and the price wasn't a burden, which made me like it even more. So this time I didn't hesitate and reordered what I'd enjoyed before.
On my last visit I sat at the window seat, looking outside, and had the peanut butter ice cream, a soft serve affogato, and chocolate ice cream.

The ones I remembered most were the peanut butter ice cream and the affogato. So I ordered those two again, plus a new flavor, mango ice cream, and an americano.

Is the Mellows affogato still good the second time?
An affogato is a dessert where you pour hot, strong espresso over ice cream. I tried it first: I poured plenty of espresso over the ice cream and dipped it a little as I ate, and yes, it's delicious as ever.

When bitter, rich espresso meets cold, smooth ice cream, you get sweetness with real coffee flavor. It's a different experience from eating plain ice cream, so if you like coffee, I think you'll like the affogato too. I loved it last time and was happy with it again this time.

Nutty, rich peanut butter ice cream
The Mellows peanut butter ice cream is the one I especially love. Nutty peanuts are added to the smooth ice cream, so the more you chew, the more nutty flavor you get. The peanuts tasted fresh too, the kind where you keep going back for one more bite.
It isn't just sweet; the nutty taste comes along with it, which I personally liked even more. That's why I ordered it again this time, just like last time.

How was the new mango ice cream?
The Mellows mango ice cream I ordered for the first time was good too. The soft, sweet taste of mango blends nicely with the smoothness of milk ice cream, and they go together better than I expected. It's fresh and sweet, so I think it would be especially good on a hot day.

Happy with the second visit: worth going back?
I first walked into Mellows by chance while passing by, and since it was so good, I came back this time. The affogato and peanut butter ice cream were just as delicious the second time, and the mango ice cream suited my taste well too.
Above all, considering the taste and quality of the ice cream, the prices aren't a burden, so it seems like a good place to go when you want a light dessert in Seongsu.
It would be good with a friend, and also for a quick break with a partner or family during a day out in Seongsu. I enjoyed it again this time, so whenever I'm in Seongsu I'll probably stop by for ice cream again.
Mellows, a Seongsu dessert spot that earned a second visit instead of being a one-time stop. If you're looking for tasty ice cream or a dessert café for something light in Seongsu, it's worth dropping by. 😊
