Hongdae hanok restaurant with flower-painted seats in Seoul: Anok
In short
Anok is a hanok Korean restaurant a short walk from Hongik University Station in Hongdae, Seoul. The writer and a friend ordered clear gomtang (13,000 won), Pyongyang mul-naengmyeon (14,000 won) and steamed pork tail (29,000 won) at a table painted with traditional flowers, and the first-time pork tail tasted like jokbal and came in a generous portion. Both the gomtang and the naengmyeon broth were mild rather than heavy, so Anok is worth a visit for hanok atmosphere and clear broth in Hongdae.

What to eat tonight?! There's really so much to eat in Hongdae, isn't there?! I love hanok (traditional Korean houses), and I found a Korean restaurant in Hongdae set inside one haha.
Has anyone here tried pork tail before?! I had it for the first time at this place and it was seriously delicious!! Let me introduce Anok, the Seoul/Hongdae restaurant I visited with a friend that's known for its pork tail jjim (steamed pork tail).
Where is Anok? A walk from Hongik University Station, with stairs
Anok is a hanok restaurant at 13-4 Hongik-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, within walking distance of Hongik University Station. There are stairs to climb going up, so keep that in mind when you visit!!

Here's the exterior~~

Check the map for the exact location haha.

The full menu — meals, hot pots, meat dishes, pancakes, grilled items, and extras — is posted where you can see it all at a glance, so I liked that I didn't have to look anything up separately haha.

Anok's hanok interior and the flower-painted table
Anok is decked out in hanok style from the very entrance, and it's so pretty haha. Total hanok vibes~~~ All you hanok lovers, gather here lol.

Here's the interior~~ It's full of that classic feel too!! With decor this pretty, it'd also be a great spot for gatherings of all kinds haha.

My friend and I sat at a table painted with a pretty traditional flower design~~ I really love flowers, so looking at the flower painting put me in such a good mood lol.

Anok menu and prices
Anok's basic meal menu starts with clear gomtang (beef bone soup) at 13,000 won and Pyongyang mul-naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles in broth) at 14,000 won. Let's take a look at what's available~~

There's also a Naver receipt review event running, so don't miss out on that perk!!
Anok says it adds subtle depth with carefully chosen ingredients like milk vetch root and burdock, while keeping only the clear, deep purity of Korean native pork so the soup stays easy on the stomach down to the last drop! They serve generous portions of meat for heartiness and bring the soup out at just the right, most comfortable temperature so you can fully enjoy the broth's natural savoriness — which only made me look forward to it more haha.

Ordering clear gomtang, Pyongyang mul-naengmyeon and steamed pork tail
We ordered clear gomtang (13,000 won), Pyongyang mul-naengmyeon (14,000 won), and steamed pork tail (29,000 won)~~

Everything from the spoon rest to the utensils to the water cup has that traditional feel~~ The side dishes also arrived, and they go really well with gukbap (soup with rice)!!

The steamed pork tail has arrived~~ Oh my goodness lol, the portion is seriously huge!!

The Pyongyang naengmyeon has arrived~~ It's piled high with meat on top too!!

The hot gomtang came out too~~ The gomtang is also loaded with meat!!

There's also salt provided so you can season it to your own taste haha.

A full spread~~ The dishes look neat and really delicious!!
How the food tasted: mild broth, and pork tail like jokbal
Anok's Pyongyang mul-naengmyeon had a seasoning that wasn't harsh at all, which I loved, and the clear gomtang's broth was genuinely delicious and not heavy either. And the pork tail jjim, which I tried for the first time, tasted like jokbal (braised pig's feet) and was delicious — I highly recommend it.

The Pyongyang naengmyeon's seasoning wasn't harsh at all, which I really liked!!

The gomtang's broth was also genuinely delicious and not heavy at all, which I liked!!

This pork tail jjim is seriously so good!! It even tastes like jokbal and it's delicious lol. Highly, highly recommend~~~~

Is Anok in Hongdae worth it? Final verdict
Having the restroom inside was convenient, and it was kept clean too!! We had such delicious food~~ I highly recommend the pork tail jjim haha. Looking for a Pyongyang naengmyeon spot in Hongdae?! Looking for a gomtang spot in Hongdae?! I recommend Anok~~
