Cheonan brunch café with pink muhly and truffle risotto: Siyudang

Today I'm introducing a café that's great for enjoying a tasty brunch and spending a relaxed time.

It's Siyudang (시유당), right next to Taehaksan Natural Recreation Forest in Cheonan!

Siyudang is a big café where you can have everything from brunch to dinner, and since lots of people visit, I went with high expectations, you know~

Unlike ordinary cafés that only do coffee and desserts, it has a wide range of meals too, so it looked great for visiting with family or friends! Now let me introduce it along with the dishes I actually tried!

What kind of place is Siyudang, the big Cheonan café?

Siyudang is a large brunch café in Pungse-myeon, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, near Taehaksan Natural Recreation Forest. Its appeal is that you can spend relaxed time in a spacious setting and have brunch or a full meal too.

The brunch and dinner menus are said to be especially well known! Bulgogi pizza and shrimp oil pasta are known as the popular items 🍕🍝 It also caught my eye that they make their sauces in-house and emphasize healthy food 👀👍

Is parking easy at Siyudang?

Siyudang has plenty of parking space, so it's convenient to visit by car. Parking is the thing that quietly worries you when you go to a café by car, right? Whether it's a family meal out or a drive with friends, roomy parking sets your mind at ease 😊

Siyudang has spacious seating on the 2nd and 3rd floors too. There are group tables as well, so it looked good for visiting with several people!

It's a nice space for brunch with friends or a meal with family.

Since it's a café lots of people visit, if you want to settle into a comfortable spot, it's worth thinking about what time you go 🤎

Pink muhly window and floor seating, pretty even on a rainy day

It rained the day I visited Siyudang, but the pink muhly (a grass with pink plumes) outside the window was still so pretty. You can feel how much care went into every corner!

Families with babies seemed to prefer the floor seating. I like floor seating too, so personally I loved it haha.

There's an elevator too! No need to haul things up the stairs!!!

What did I order at Siyudang?

At Siyudang I ordered a good range: truffle risotto, injeolmi croissant, sunshine-stick bread, a large mushroom soup, and starter bread. True to a brunch café, the menu is really varied! From meals to breads and desserts there were so many choices that I agonized for ages over what to eat 😂

How was the truffle risotto at Siyudang?

The most memorable dish this time at Siyudang was the truffle risotto 🤎 If you like that distinctive truffle aroma, it's worth a look. From the first bite it was so good that I just kept eating 😂

With risotto you usually get full partway through or leave a little, right? This time was different!

It seemed to use two kinds of mushrooms! I was enjoying the risotto so much that I ended up scraping the leftover sauce off the bowl hahaha. If you visit Siyudang, do take a look at the truffle risotto when choosing your menu ✨

Large mushroom soup and starter bread

Next is Siyudang's mushroom soup! This time in the large size! 🍄 Adding soup to brunch makes the meal feel richer, doesn't it?

Starter bread came out too, and it was perfect for whetting the appetite before the meal properly began! Ordering several dishes and sharing made it feel like really enjoying brunch 🥰

Siyudang's breads: injeolmi croissant and sunshine-stick bread

After the meal at Siyudang I also ordered the injeolmi croissant (a croissant with roasted rice cake flavor) and the sunshine-stick bread 🥐 Stopping at just the meal would be a shame, right? haha

(I was too busy eating to photograph the injeolmi bread, sob) Siyudang has a wide variety of breads as well as brunch dishes, so it's nice for dessert after a meal.

It seems like a good choice when you want both a meal and bread, or when you come with a group and want to share a variety of dishes.

Is Siyudang worth going back to?

Preparing for Christmas, the owner was decorating the rooftop beautifully even on a rainy day. I wonder how pretty Siyudang will be in winter..
