Why we packed rockfish sashimi at Nokdo Susan in Daecheon Port Fish Market

We booked a pension near Daecheon Beach in Boryeong for a family trip, and we took rockfish sashimi to go from Nokdo Susan (녹도수산) in Daecheon Port Fish Market. Since we'd come all the way to the sea, it felt like we had to eat some fresh seafood~ While passing by Daecheon Port, we were looking for a place to get sashimi to go for the family, and we stopped at Nokdo Susan!

Eating right at a restaurant is nice too, but we were planning a barbecue at the pension that day, so sashimi on top of that sounded perfect. That's why we decided to get rockfish sashimi to go haha.

The fun of browsing the tanks at Daecheon Port Fish Market

At Daecheon Port Fish Market, every shop has tanks out front, so it's fun just to look at what seafood they have!

If you're visiting Daecheon, stopping by the fish market after Daecheon Beach or the port to look around seems like a good idea~ Passing through Daecheon Port that day, it was nice to wander slowly and decide as a family what kind of sashimi to eat~

That cute hand on the right... is my nephew haha. He suddenly said, "Aunt, put me in your blog!" and told me to photograph the cute shrimp too, lol. Seeing him handle even the photo-taking so smartly, I think he'd be better at blogging than me 🤣

See those big, plump shrimp?! They looked so plump and fresh that I almost ate them on the spot... but I held out, haha.

How much were 3kg of rockfish and 2kg of shrimp at Nokdo Susan?

We bought 3kg of rockfish and 2kg of shrimp at Nokdo Susan and paid ₩125,000 in total. That's the price on the day I visited!!

I originally meant to get only rockfish, but somehow I ended up buying shrimp too lol. I asked them to pack it so it would be easy to eat at the pension! Thanks to that, everything was packed neatly and we whooshed off to the pension. On the way, my nephew makes one more appearance~

Nephew carrying the packed sashimi to the parking lot

It must have been heavy, but he insisted on carrying it, and in the end he went like this all the way to the parking lot lol 🤣 I wondered how heavy it was and tried lifting it myself too, and it was seriously hefty.

Opening the Nokdo Susan sashimi takeout at the pension: how was it?

Ate the rockfish sashimi and it was so good, rock-fish-ing good (우럭)

Nokdo Susan rockfish sashimi takeout opened at the pension

At the pension, we finally opened the Nokdo Susan rockfish sashimi, and it was packed neatly. Being packed this tidily puts my mind at ease haha. Maybe because it was sashimi we ate on a trip, taking it out and eating comfortably felt like a whole different experience! Sashimi alone would be a bit of a letdown, so here are the barbecue photos too 💚

Looking at the photos, it's a spread I want to eat all over again. Rockfish sashimi piled up on two plates! It was plentiful and thickly cut and so delicious that after eating rockfish I was just saying "rockfish, rockfish..." (I really wanted to try telling a joke once 🤣)

Free sea squirt with shrimp and rockfish sashimi

Nokdo Susan's free sea squirt and the shrimp

Nokdo Susan gave us the sea squirt (meongge) for free, amazing!! 💚 Peeling the shrimp and dipping it in chogochujang (sweet-and-sour chili sauce) was happiness MAX haha. With rockfish sashimi, shrimp and sea squirt, we ate until we were completely full~~

Would I recommend Nokdo Susan sashimi takeout for a family trip to Daecheon?

If you're on a family trip to Daecheon, I think it's a good idea to look around Daecheon Port Fish Market and take dinner sashimi to go from Nokdo Susan! This time we stocked up on rockfish sashimi, shrimp and even sea squirt, and enjoyed it all at our pension~

If you plan to visit, it might be a good idea to ask the shop in advance which kinds of sashimi are on sale that day and what the prices are!
