Moonfall, an izakaya near Eungam Station: what's it like for drinking solo?
Moonfall (문폴) is an izakaya in an alley near Eungam Station with a hideout kind of vibe, and the writer went there to drink solo. These days, a drink with good food under soft lighting after work or on a weekend evening feels so precious~ I'm a solo-drinking person, and I recently visited Moonfall, which won me over completely, from the atmosphere to the quality of the food, so I wanted to introduce it to you haha

The big moon photo spot and soft lighting
Walking along the alley near Eungam Station, Moonfall stands out with a stylish sign and a tidy exterior that recalls warm moonlight. It's also a great spot for photos in front of the big moon! Just like the name, it has a cozy, dreamy feel, like a place where the moon fell.
Unlike the noisy, crowded pubs you often see these days, Moonfall is set up to be comfortable and perfect for a quiet chat. The soft, not-too-bright lighting makes photos come out really well, so I'd recommend it first to couples looking for a date course around Eungam Station and to anyone who wants to drink solo.

Seating and how to order
At Moonfall you order easily by kiosk at your seat, and there's a range of seating, from bar seats that suit solo drinking to 2-person tables, 4-person tables and group seating. When you sit down they bring you barley tea, and it was so tasty and cold, the best,,!
What's on the Moonfall menu and how much is it?
Moonfall has a wide range of anju (drinking snacks), from sashimi to soups, grilled dishes and pasta. Here are the menu items and prices as written in the original.

So many tasty snacks~ choosing what to eat becomes a very happy dilemma haha

Three kinds of croquettes
Moonfall's three croquettes are a fried snack served with takoyaki sauce and salad. I wanted something simple and fried, so I ordered them, and they were crispy and a little salty, just right with beer or a highball!

How were Moonfall's salmon sashimi and yukhoe?
One of the signature things you have to try at Moonfall is the fresh sashimi, and the combo of yukhoe and salmon sashimi is love! 🍣 Both were really soft and delicious, and I was happy that sauces and a platter came so you can enjoy them in different ways^^

Moonfall's salmon sashimi comes out in thick slices glistening with oil, and the moment I put one piece in my mouth, a rich, soft texture filled it~~ There was no fishy taste at all, just clean and mild, perfect with a highball or sake.

How are Moonfall's highballs and drinks?
Moonfall has a range of drinks that go well with the food, from refreshing highballs to sake by the glass and traditional Korean liquor. Good food needs good drinks, right! The owner and staff were also so friendly that I felt treated like a guest the whole time.
The highballs come in a real variety too, so I strongly recommend it to highball fans like me! I always drink yuzu highballs, but this time I ordered the plum highball, and the fruit flavor was strong, so happy, and so cold it quenched my thirst haha
Is Moonfall near Eungam Station worth recommending?
Moonfall has all three: good food, atmosphere and friendliness, so I could tell right away why it's a hidden hideout that only those in the know visit. On a special day, or at the end of a tiring day when you need warm comfort and good food, why not spend a lovely night at Moonfall? If you're looking for a place for a date or a solo drink near Eungam Station in Eunpyeong-gu, I strongly recommend spending a happy time at Moonfall!
