Mangwon café for coffee novices, by Seoul bike: mint lemon ade, PICT
In short
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch (픽트로스터리 망원점) is a roastery café in Mangwon-dong, Seoul, near Mangwon Market, serving coffee alongside desserts such as pistachio tiramisu. On a hot day, the writer rode a Ttareungyi (Seoul public bike) to PICT Roastery around lunchtime and had a nutty-bean iced Americano (₩4,900), a mint lemon ade (₩7,500) and pistachio tiramisu (₩8,000); the nutty beans went down well even for a self-described coffee novice. Verdict: PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is a Mangwon café that's not too loud, making it a good spot for conversation or a date.

I was looking for a café in Mangwon and ended up at PICT Roastery Mangwon, a coffee and dessert spot 🥹 It seemed to be famous for its coffee!
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch hours and location
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is open Wed–Fri 11:00–19:00 (last order 18:30) and Sat–Sun 11:00–21:00 (last order 20:30), and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. There's no parking, but groups are welcome and takeout and delivery are available. It's about a 6-minute walk from Mangwon Station!

It's near Mangwon Market, so it's a good stop after buying bread (there were people who'd clearly bought armfuls of it). You have to take a photo at the photo zone outside ✌️

Blasting air conditioning, my heart skipped. It was still hot that day and I'd come on a Seoul public bike (Ttareungyi), so I really needed the AC 😭

Where is the entrance to PICT Roastery Mangwon?
Go in through the door on the right and head down the stairs, and the café is right there. I'd wondered where the door was, but it turned out to be pretty easy (?)

Once you go down, you're in the café! Figs were in season, so the place was full of figs.

What is the atmosphere inside PICT Roastery Mangwon?
The inside is a very clean, white-toned space! It was cool in there too. When I arrived around lunchtime it was empty, but by the time I left it was packed, wow.

The whole place feels simple but full of mood..? ✨️ I think it'd be good for conversation too! The wood-toned tables and chairs seem like a nice accent point?!

Restroom, outlets and waiting
There's a neat restroom inside PICT Roastery Mangwon too!

There are spots with outlets as well, so it's good for a quick phone charge!

There's no Catchtable (reservation app) or anything like that, but it seems like a hot café with a waiting list 🥹💗 Desserts reportedly sell out fast, so be careful ❗️

What's on the menu at PICT Roastery Mangwon?
The menu seemed fairly simple! Befitting a roastery, the coffee seems to be famous, but there are also desserts and French toast, so lots of variety?! It seems like a great dessert spot in Mangwon too! There are teas and other drinks besides coffee, so it's totally fine if you can't drink coffee.

You can smell the beans and pick one, which I loved! The self-service bar has water and napkins too 🔥

- ☕️ Iced Americano ₩4,900
- 🍋 Mint lemon ade ₩7,500
- 🍰 Pistachio tiramisu ₩8,000
The window-seat mood is amazing..... but everyone walking past looks in, so heads up, haha.

Fine for non-coffee drinkers? The nutty iced Americano
The iced Americano (₩4,900) at PICT Roastery Mangwon lets you choose between nutty beans and beans with some acidity, and I went with nutty! I'm a coffee novice and don't like bitter things, so I normally don't drink coffee, but the nutty one with no sourness was fine! If you like coffee, I think it's worth trying 🥹

How does the mint lemon ade taste?
The mint lemon ade (₩7,500) at PICT Roastery Mangwon was a tangy, zingy ade with a strong mint flavor, so delicious; it felt like a mojito. If you like refreshing drinks, it'll be your thing! If you can't handle sour things you might find it sour, but it was just right for me 🥹

How was the pistachio tiramisu?
Anyone can tell it's a pistachio dessert, right?! The looks are insane!

The pistachio tiramisu (₩8,000) at PICT Roastery Mangwon had a subtle, nutty pistachio flavor, and it was moist rather than bitter, since the coffee flavor isn't too strong! But if you like a strong, true pistachio taste, you might find it a little lacking. The crushed pistachios on top gave it a nice texture!
Wrap-up: a Mangwon Market café good for conversation
PICT Roastery Mangwon Branch is near Mangwon Market and not too loud, so it was a good café for chatting or a date, and nice for coffee or dessert! By the time I left it was full, a hot café with a wait 🥹
