Where is Boulangerie Copain on Mangnidan-gil?

Boulangerie Copain is a bakery set a bit further inside Mangnidan-gil, at 115 Huiujeong-ro, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul. I was walking straight down toward the Han River when I spotted the bread sign — instant dopamine hit, no way I wasn't going in.

Today I'm bringing you a review of a big bread shopping haul at Boulangerie Copain, a hidden gem bakery in Mangnidan-gil! It was one of those bad-mood days where I just wanted something delicious, and since I love bread, I headed straight to Boulangerie Copain for a bread shopping spree. haha

It was even open despite the late hour.

How much bread is left at Boulangerie Copain at 9pm?

Boulangerie Copain's signature baguette comes out right at 10am, and it's great to eat at lunchtime. I love things like focaccia and baguette, so this made me really happy.

Ready to pick my bread. Since I got there at 9pm, there wasn't a ton of bread left, which was a bit disappointing, but I was grateful they were still open at that hour so I could buy anything at all... haha

Boulangerie Copain's bread lineup and mini brioche loaf

There wasn't much variety left, but everything was still delicious — can't complain, haha. Brioche loaf, cinnamon crookie, garlic cheese ball, tomato olive danish, chestnut bread, angbutter, croissant, and more — all guaranteed to be good! There's even a mini version of the brioche loaf, so solo diners can buy it without any pressure. haha

Basil sandwich made with baguette

There were plenty of sandwich types too, and the prices were low. Basil sandwich, ham cheese baguette sandwich, colby jack sandwich, and more — using baguette made me even more excited. It was so affordable that I grabbed a basil sandwich to eat for lunch the next day.

Fig financier made with in-season figs

There was lemon cake, financier, and fig financier too. I bought one fig financier since figs are in season right now, and it was genuinely delicious. It's super cheap for a financier, so please try it!!! I'll definitely go back for more fig financier.

The fridge had a chocolate palmier and a banana pudding too, which caught my eye, but I wasn't going to eat them that day so I passed.

They sell drinks too, so grabbing a coffee and a sandwich on the way to work would make a perfect breakfast substitute.

After-7pm discount and baguette cutting service

Boulangerie Copain offers a discount if you visit after 7pm, so of course I had to buy something. In this high-cost-of-living era, a discount like this? Precious, truly precious.

If you're not eating at home, cutting is more convenient, and they'll cut baguettes for you so you can eat them easily. I was curious about the chocolate baguette and basil crunch too, but they were sold out, so I'll definitely try them next visit. Tasting this bread made me look forward to the rest of the lineup.

Sharing the bread with a coworker who asked where it came from

The bread was so good I figured it must have been featured somewhere, and sure enough, it's been on the show Life's Grand Masters (생활의 달인). It would've been strange if it hadn't been. You'll understand once you try it. I brought some bread in and gave it to a coworker, who said it was delicious and asked where I got it. haha So proud. Finding a bakery like this and having someone ask for the info because it's good makes me feel so proud. haha

Work stress, solved by bread shopping at Boulangerie Copain, a hidden gem bakery in Mangnidan-gil~~~! My mood lifted immediately and I skipped home. lolllll The bread was all so good, pure happiness. Really looking forward to that chocolate baguette... next time I'll go earlier and clean the place out.
