Gwangalli brunch with easy parking: spicy hangover noodles at Marento
In short
Marento is a dog-friendly brunch restaurant in Suyeong, Busan, facing Gwangalli Beach and right in front of the Millak Waterside Park public parking lot. On a road trip to Busan, two diners shared Marento's basil oil pasta (mild), spicy hangover noodles and truffle mushroom cream risotto: the risotto was good enough to keep coming to mind, and the spicy hangover noodles were just right after a long drive. For a Gwangalli brunch with easy parking and a pleasant terrace, Marento is a strong fit.

I recently went on a trip to Busan, and I stopped by 'Marento', a tasty brunch place right in front of Gwangalli Beach. It's perfect for your first meal after arriving in Busan, so here's my honest review of Marento.
Marento opening hours and parking info
Marento is at 17-9 Gwanganhaebyeon-ro 344beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan (1F, Unit 101). It's open 11:00-24:00 (last order 23:00) Monday and Wednesday to Saturday, and 11:00-21:00 (last order 20:00) on Sundays. It's closed every Tuesday, and if you use the public parking lot at the waterside park in front of the restaurant, you get parking support.
Is parking easy at Marento in Gwangalli?
Marento is right in front of the Millak Waterside Park public parking lot, so it was the easiest place to park among the restaurants near Gwangalli. Since it's a public lot, the fee is cheap, and they also offer a parking fee discount per table.

This time we traveled to Busan by car instead of on foot, so I checked parking before every restaurant! And the easiest place to park among the restaurants near Gwangalli was Marento, haha! There's a public parking lot right in front, so even a beginner driver can park easily. The fee is cheap since it's a public lot, and they even give a parking fee discount per table, so you get zero of the usual Busan trip parking stress.

Marento's terrace and indoor seating atmosphere
Marento has lots of terrace seats, so it looks perfect for brunch outside on a nice day, or beer or wine in the evening.

Besides the terrace, the indoor seats are also spaced out comfortably, and I liked how the wood interior put me at ease :)

Is Marento dog-friendly?
Marento allows pets, so you can spend a lovely time with your dog. They say to use a pet stroller, cage or carrier when you bring your pet.
What two of us ordered at Marento: 2 pastas and 1 risotto
The two of us ordered basil oil pasta (mild), spicy hangover noodles and truffle mushroom cream risotto, and shared them. We were sooo hungry that day, so we got 2 pastas and 1 risotto!

For the basil oil pasta you can choose the spice level, which I liked because you can pick to your taste!

The food looks amazing, right! It's plated beautifully so it's great for photos, and the portions are generous, so it's perfect for sharing.

Basil oil pasta: the freshest brunch dish
The basil oil pasta was my boyfriend's order. It comes topped with plump shrimp, and fragrant, fresh ingredients like bacon, basil and broccoli are packed in generously. Personally it had the strongest fresh feel of all the dishes, so I recommend it as a brunch menu!

If you like spicy food, you can choose the spice level, so I think ordering it spicy instead of mild would be even tastier.

Truffle mushroom cream risotto: the one I keep thinking about and will reorder
Marento's truffle mushroom cream risotto has the aroma of truffle oil plus the mild, nutty taste of mushroom and cream, so it's a dish I'll definitely reorder next time. I love risotto and have eaten a lot of it, and it's hard for risotto to be bad, right?! But getting to "wow, so good" is surprisingly hard, and this risotto at Marento was honestly so delicious that I kept thinking about it, hehe.
The truffle oil aroma adds depth, and the mild, nutty taste of the mushrooms and cream was excellent! I'm definitely reordering this next time I visit!!

Spicy hangover noodles: after a long drive or a night of drinking
Marento's spicy hangover noodles (eolkeunhaejang-myeon) are noodles in a spicy broth with seafood and big pieces of crab, and they're not that spicy, so they make a great hangover brunch. After driving for a long time my stomach felt a bit off and I wanted something spicy with broth, so I ordered it, and honestly it fixes you right away haha. If you drank too much the night before and have a brunch plan, just order this.
There's really a lot of seafood, and the crab pieces are big with plump, full meat, so one bite fills your mouth. It isn't that spicy, so my boyfriend, who can't handle spice but loves jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), said this was actually his favorite dish, haha.
Why I recommend Marento for brunch in Gwangalli
If you're traveling to Gwangalli or looking for a brunch restaurant there, I recommend Marento, a brunch spot with easy parking and a great atmosphere >+<!
