Gwangalli sashimi restaurant mulhoe noodles with friends: Geumrang

In short

Geumrang Hoetjip is a sashimi restaurant on the 6th floor of Marine Rich in Gwangalli, Busan, with the Gwangan Bridge straight ahead and a wild-caught sashimi course. Three friends ordered the suyeonhansang set at 60,000 won per person and worked through mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) with buckwheat noodles, abalone porridge, cheese-grilled scallops, gonowata (fermented sea cucumber innards) and merou steak, while staff kept clearing the overflowing plates so the table stayed tidy to the last bite. With one refill of sashimi on a small plate, the course was generous enough to leave all three stuffed.

Gwangalli Beach is the spot everyone thinks of when they think of Busan! Today I visited Geumrang Hoetjip, a Gwangalli sashimi restaurant where you can sit right in front of the Gwangan Bridge view and dig into endless fresh wild sashimi and side dishes.

Three of us went and ordered the most popular menu, the 'suyeonhansang' — here's our honest, very full review! 🍣

Where Geumrang Hoetjip is and how the Gwangan Bridge view looks

Geumrang Hoetjip sits near Gwangalli Waterside Park on the 6th floor of Marine Rich, so you get an amazing view of the open sea and the full sweep of Gwangan Bridge while you eat.

The tables are spaced generously and kept tidy, so it works well whether you're bringing your parents, going on a date, or meeting up with a group. Sit by the window and you can enjoy sashimi while looking at the sea — a treat for both the eyes and the mouth 🌊

What the 60,000-won suyeonhansang course brings out for three

We ordered Geumrang Hoetjip's signature best-selling course, the 'suyeonhansang' (₩60,000 per person), for three people!

Geumrang Hoetjip's suyeonhansang course spread

The suyeonhansang keeps coming: fresh wild assorted sashimi, steamed abalone, merou steak, gonowata (sea cucumber intestines), nakji tangtangi (chopped live octopus), shrimp jang, mixed seafood, butter-grilled scallops, sushi, fried shrimp, hot plate dishes, egg roe rice, and finally a spicy fish stew (or clear stew) to close things out — the table practically groans under the weight of it.

One especially big draw: you get one free refill of sashimi on a small plate 💡!

Starters at Geumrang Hoetjip: nakji tangtangi, mulhoe buckwheat noodles, abalone porridge

The side dishes (sukkidashi) that come with Geumrang Hoetjip's suyeonhansang were genuinely high quality!

Nakji tangtangi and mixed seafood side dishes

Nakji tangtangi & mixed seafood: the still-moving nakji tangtangi paired perfectly with the nutty sesame oil aroma, and the sea squirt, shrimp jang, and other seafood were all fresh.

The mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) came with buckwheat noodles too, and the combo worked so well!!

The abalone porridge was nutty and seasoned just right~!

Cheese-grilled scallops, kimchi jeon (kimchi pancake) — there were honestly so many side dishes I kept agonizing over what to eat first,,ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

There were so many dishes the table couldn't hold them all, so the staff kept clearing and tidying up for us — we got to eat cleanly the whole time!!

Wild assorted sashimi with gonowata: how it tastes

The main event, the wild assorted sashimi, arrives sliced thick and super fresh.

Taste and texture: being wild-caught really shows — it gets springier and chewier the more you chew, with savory sweetness rising up with every bite!

Paired with gonowata: dipping a chewy piece of sashimi into the precious gonowata (sea cucumber intestines) that comes alongside wraps your mouth in ocean flavor — a real delicacy.

Sashimi dipped into gonowata

They seemed confident about their gonowata, and honestly, they had every right to be — it was so fresh there wasn't a hint of fishiness, so I dipped in generously!!

One sashimi refill, then merou steak and spicy fish stew to finish

No need to worry about running out of sashimi — ask for the one small-plate refill and they bring out another round of fresh sashimi, neatly arranged! The three of us ate until we were stuffed.

Merou steak: the merou steak that melted in my mouth was such a treat~ soft, nutty, and just a genuinely happy flavor!!!

On top of all this, fried dishes come out too~ there were so many my friend and I were genuinely taken aback ㅠㅠ

We finished with a spicy, punchy fish stew and sizzling egg roe rice served in a stone pot — the deep broth flavor cleared everything out and gave us the perfect ending to the meal.

Is Geumrang Hoetjip worth it? Final verdict for a group of three

If you're looking for a local Gwangalli spot that nails the view, the taste, and the sheer quantity all at once, I strongly recommend Geumrang Hoetjip's suyeonhansang course!

Fantastic ocean view: the best atmosphere for enjoying sashimi with the Gwangan Bridge right in front of you! / An endless side dish lineup: from wild sashimi to merou, abalone, nakji tangtangi, and gonowata — a genuinely upscale spread! / A generous sashimi refill: one free refill means three people can eat their fill without any regrets!

Definitely worth a visit for a family gathering or as a stop on your Busan trip 💯
