In short
Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Sinchon Branch is a bar on Yonsei-ro in Sinchon, Seodaemun, Seoul, known for slushy soju at 3,900 won and draft beer at 2,900 won. The signature gopdoritang (Korean beef intestine stew) with cheese added and a self-mix rice ball were the picks for this visit. A great, low-pressure spot for a first or second round with a group in Sinchon.

So I had plans in Sinchon recently and went looking for a bar, and I stumbled onto this insanely cheap group bar — had to bring you a review!
This is actually the place I found back when I was scouting Sinchon group bars for a club dinner because the drink prices were so cheap haha. In this era of insane prices, soju for 3,900 won and draft beer for 2,900 won... is that even legal?
Honestly, with soju going for 6,000 won at most restaurants these days, this place is basically heaven. If you're looking for a Sinchon dinner spot or want to drink cheap with a group, I highly recommend it — it's Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Sinchon Branch.

With such generous hours, you can drop by whether it's your first, second, or third round of the night, no pressure at all! Great for starting a gathering, and perfect for keeping the energy up late into the night!

A hip yet retro interior
The moment you walk in, the retro vibes hit you hard — they've taken that old-school street food tent feel and given it a clean, modern spin. The interior is pretty spacious with decent spacing between seats. The window seats are legendary especially — you can see the streets of Sinchon right outside, and the atmosphere is honestly insane haha.

The old-style ad posters on the walls were super fun to look at too. Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Sinchon Branch also has spaces that feel private, so if you're looking for a Sinchon dinner spot, definitely book here...

Menu and ordering
Each table has its own tablet menu, so even a big dinner group would find it super easy to browse and order!
Looking at the menu, the range of snacks is insane. Starting with the signature gopdoritang, then soup dishes, fried food, stir-fries, fruit, sides — true to the pojangmacha (street food tent) name, every kind of drinking snack is here.
But what really grabs your eyes is the drink prices haha. Slushy soju at 3,900 won, draft beer on ice at 2,900 won — this deserves the title of best value bar in Sinchon. I genuinely worried whether the owner makes any profit at all lol.
What we picked at Yeokjeon Pojangmacha
That day we ordered the signature gopdoritang and the must-have side, self-mix rice balls! The menu said they use 100% Korean beef intestine and daechang (large intestine), so my expectations shot through the roof.
Usually with these pojangmacha-style gopdoritang I worry the contents might be a bit skimpy, but here the visuals alone were the real deal.

The insanely generous main dish: gopdoritang
The main event finally arrived — Korean beef gopdoritang! It came out on a burner, and the sheer volume looked like it might overflow the pot, honestly impressive.
Inside there's Korean beef daechang, gopchang (intestine), and chicken as the basics, plus quail eggs, enoki mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, chives, glass noodles, and rice cake — packed to the brim. The ingredients were so generously loaded that it already looked perfect even before it started boiling.
The rich, savory fat from the daechang mixed with the spicy, tangy sauce made the broth taste insane. The chicken had zero gamey smell, was chewy, and well-seasoned all the way through, so the soju just kept going down. Among Sinchon's value bar food, this one takes the crown.

They even added cheese for us!! Spicy broth plus cheese made it so, so good, ㅠ

The perfect side: self-mix rice balls
One bite of the gopdoritang broth and I knew we needed rice, so we added the rice balls! They came out piled with seaweed flakes, mayonnaise, flying fish roe, chopped green onion, and finely diced pickled radish — a total bomb of ingredients.

Put on plastic gloves, mix it all up, roll it into little balls, and the nutty sesame oil smell just takes over~~~
Dip this rice ball in the spicy gopdoritang broth, top it with intestine and chicken, and eat it in one bite — pure heaven ㅠㅠㅜㅜ

The little pops of texture from the pickled radish were amazing, and the mayonnaise's savoriness perfectly balanced the spice — the combo is insane!!! Skipping the rice balls would genuinely be a loss.

I rolled these pretty well if I do say so myself haha
Overall summary
- Insane pricing at 3,900 won soju and 2,900 won draft beer — an absolute oasis for students on a tight budget or anyone trying to save on dinner costs. Amazing value ㅠㅠㅜ
- Generous portion quality — it's not just cheap, the main dish gopdoritang is packed with real Korean beef intestine, daechang, chicken, glass noodles and more, and the portion is huge. It's loaded.
- Spacious, hip atmosphere — plenty of open seating, making it ideal for anyone looking for a Sinchon group bar. The retro vibe by the windows is also amazing, so it works great for a date or a small get-together too, 200% satisfaction!
This place nails value, taste, and atmosphere all at once, so I recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a Sinchon group bar or wanting to hit a first and second round without worrying about the bill. If you're deciding on a Sinchon dinner spot, head straight to Yeokjeon Pojangmacha Sinchon Branch!
