I was looking for a spot in Yeouido to enjoy tasty grilled skewers with a cold beer, and that's how I ended up at Robadayakki Sodam Yeouido Branch~ It's conveniently located near Saetgang Station and Yeouido Station, and you can enjoy all kinds of grilled skewers and Japanese-style side dishes together, which made it perfect for a light drink after work. Especially with the charcoal-smoked skewers paired with cold beer, picking each one off the stick one by one was such a fun experience!

4 minutes from Saetgang Station: location and surroundings
The restaurant is just a 4-minute walk from Exit 1 of Saetgang Station, so the accessibility is really great~ From Yeouido Station it's about an 11-minute walk!

Is booking a counter seat a must?
I booked a counter seat the night before~ A lot of seats really are reservation-only, so there does seem to be quite a bit of waiting. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend booking ahead first!!

Looking at the menu items written on wooden boards… it definitely gave off strong izakaya vibes~

What we ordered and the prices
Here's the menu. There were also set menus, which looked good for groups. The menu had a wide range of items — seafood, grilled skewers, grilled fish, hot pot, fried dishes — and out of these, we ordered:
- Assorted skewers / ₩24,000
- Yurinji / ₩20,000
- Hangover ramen / ₩9,000
- Draft beer / ₩7,000
Sitting at the counter, I could see the owner cooking with a torch, which was fun to watch haha

Complimentary grilled egg
A grilled egg came out right after we ordered, on the house! The bottom of the egg was nicely browned and seasoned, so it was salty and delicious.

Kirin Ichiban draft beer
And then the draft beer~~ I'm not really a big drinker, but this draft beer was so~~ smooth that it was really delicious!!!! I think this was my first time trying Kirin Ichiban draft… if it's this kind of beer, I feel like I could drink it often haha

Yurinji
The yurinji came out first. Yurinji is crispy fried chicken soaked with a sweet-and-tangy sauce that really woke up the appetite~! The peppers on top added a subtle spicy kick that cut through what could've been a heavy, greasy fried dish. The crispy outside and moist inside texture was also great.

Hangover ramen loaded with seafood
The hangover ramen was true to its name for a reason… it was loaded with so much seafood that the broth had this really refreshing depth of flavor.

It had mussels, shrimp, and octopus, plus a generous pile of bean sprouts on top, adding a crunchy texture and clean finish. The broth was spicy yet refreshing, making it the perfect hangover cure the morning after drinking!

The assorted skewer lineup
The assorted skewers had a wide variety, from chicken heart to chicken meat, chicken skin, ginkgo nuts, garlic, and mushrooms, so it was fun picking through them~ They were grilled over charcoal so a subtle smoky flavor came through, and each ingredient had its own different texture and flavor, making them more appealing with every bite.

In particular, the tomato bacon skewer had salty bacon paired well with tangy tomato, and the bacon cheese rice cake skewer combined chewy rice cake with savory cheese and bacon flavor, making it my second pick! It went really well as a beer snack too.

Whenever things started to feel a bit heavy, having ginkgo nuts, grilled garlic, and a sip of draft beer in between hit the spot so well~~ Anyway, why is grilled garlic so delicious? Haha we really are a nation of garlic…
To sum up
From assorted skewers to yurinji to hangover ramen loaded with seafood, there was such a variety of Japanese-style dishes to enjoy that picking side dishes was fun in itself. It was a great place to visit when you want to enjoy delicious grilled skewers with a cold beer, or when you're looking for a good-vibe izakaya in Yeouido :)
