Takeout burgers at Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital, Seodaemun
In short
Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch is a burger restaurant on the basement floor food hall (Deli Aqua) of Yonsei Cancer Hospital, part of Severance Hospital in Seodaemun, Seoul. With a tight outpatient schedule, the writer took away a Hawaiian burger set and a wasabi mayo shrimp burger to eat while waiting for their appointment, and found the burger quality high for the price. Since the self-serve chips are unlimited refill when dining in, next time it's worth sitting down and ordering a combo.

Location and exterior in the Yonsei Cancer Hospital basement food hall

This is the exterior of Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch. It's located in the Deli Aqua food hall on the basement 1st floor of Yonsei Cancer Hospital, close to the main building, so it was easy to get to. The main building's food court is crowded and chaotic, but the Yonsei Cancer Hospital basement food hall has a calmer atmosphere, which I found much more comfortable and less like a typical food court.
What's the vibe like — can you eat solo?

The inside of Bas Burger somehow had an American feel to it — hip yet calm and modern. There was much less of the chaotic hospital-food-court feeling, and honestly it didn't even feel like it was inside a hospital, so I could eat more comfortably. Burgers are also a great menu for solo dining, and combined with the relaxed, atmospheric vibe, there were quite a few people eating alone.

Unlimited self-serve chip refills
If you dine in, you can enjoy unlimited refills of the self-serve chips (James's Chips). I got mine to go, but while waiting for my order I got to try the chips piled high in a big basket. They came with a plate and ketchup, and they were crispy, salty, American-style chips that were genuinely delicious!!
Bas Burger menu and prices

This is the menu board posted in front of the store. The cheapest burger, the Sriracha Cheese Burger, is ₩7,300, with the set adding ₩3,900 and the combo adding ₩2,400. You can get a satisfying meal for around ₩10,000-something, which is pretty reasonable value for a burger restaurant! We ordered a Hawaiian burger set and a wasabi mayo shrimp burger on its own, both to go!
The burgers I picked up while waiting for my outpatient appointment

The Bas Burger I took away and ate while waiting for my outpatient appointment was amazing. My appointment schedule was tight, so I just grabbed the burger to eat in between, but it was convenient to eat and the burger quality was really high for the price. The fries were nicely salty and delicious too, so it was a very filling meal.

Wasabi mayo shrimp burger and Hawaiian burger
On the left is the wasabi mayo shrimp burger, and on the right is the Hawaiian burger. The wasabi mayo shrimp burger had plump shrimp in wasabi mayo sauce — the faint kick of wasabi paired with the smoky, plump texture of the shrimp was really delicious. The Hawaiian burger had a beef patty with grilled pineapple slices, bacon, and plenty of cheddar cheese. It's a burger that splits opinion, but I was completely into it!!
Final thoughts
Today I introduced Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch, a great burger spot near Severance Hospital in Sinchon. The burgers are delicious and takeout is possible, so it was a great place to grab a filling, cost-effective meal while waiting for a hospital appointment. It's also a great atmosphere for solo dining, and with unlimited chip refills when dining in, you can eat even more heartily while enjoying the vibe. Next time I plan to visit in person, order a combo, and enjoy the unlimited chips for the best-value filling meal.
