In short
Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a newly opened restaurant specializing in seasoned Hanton (Korean pork) charcoal galbi near Bakdal Market in Manan-gu, Anyang, Gyeonggi. Three diners shared 4 servings of the seasoned Hanton charcoal galbi with doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and naengmyeon (cold noodles), and the thick cuts, real charcoal aroma and not-too-sweet marinade never got tiring. Where is Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch in Anyang, and what about parking?
Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch is a newly opened charcoal pork galbi restaurant near Bakdal Market in Anyang, and there's parking for about 2-3 cars in the space in front of the store. It's close to Bakdal Market, so it's easy to get to, and it's a great spot for browsing the market or taking a light stroll before or after the meal!!
Lately the temperature swings have been bigger and my body's felt oddly sluggish, so I felt like I needed some hearty meat to recharge, and I went out to eat! I was trying to figure out where in Anyang to go for sweet, charcoal-fragrant seasoned pork galbi, and heard about a new restaurant near Bakdal Market, so this time I visited 'Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch'!

Seating and atmosphere at Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch
At Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch, the tables are separated by partitions so it feels private, and there's a separate room inside too!! The owner was attentive from the moment we parked, checked our party size, and led us to a spacious, comfortable seat!

It was genuinely so clean!! It's a meat restaurant, but the floor wasn't slippery and the whole place felt fresh and comfortable, so you could tell at a glance how much care they put into cleanliness and hygiene.

Self-serve side dish bar and baby utensils
The self-serve bar at Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch was kept constantly stocked with side dishes! And thoughtfully, baby utensils were set out too, haha.

Shredded scallion, salad, gungchae (Korean thistle), kimchi — so much variety! The scallion salad (pajeori) is also perfect with the galbi.

How was the seasoned Hanton (Korean pork) charcoal galbi?
We ordered the signature dish, Hanton pork galbi (seasoned Hanton pork charcoal galbi). You could tell at a glance they were using good-quality charcoal. As always, half the flavor of the meat comes down to the charcoal, so that matters a lot!!

A traditional taste learned from Sannae-myeon, Gyeongju
They say Sannae Sutbul Galbi learned its traditional flavor and technique directly from Sannae-myeon in Gyeongju, a region long passed down through generations. Sannae-myeon, Gyeongju is famous for its meat and charcoal-grilled dishes, and it seems they brought that deep flavor and know-how straight to Bakdal-dong, Anyang so people here could enjoy it comfortably...!!!

The thick cuts with precise scoring and a satisfying ratio of fat are so generous!!!

The sauce didn't look too sweet either, and the meat quality was really good and fresh.

Thanks to the great heat of the charcoal, the outside of the meat browned nicely while trapping in the juices. As it grilled, that charcoal aroma soaked in beautifully!

It's so good even eaten plain with no extra sauce, ㅠㅠ

How many servings should three people order?
The portions at Sannae Sutbul Galbi are generous, so even just 1 serving per person for three people would fill you up!! Great value too. We did order 4 servings to eat our fill, of course, and we were genuinely stuffed!!

When the sauce is too sweet or too salty, you get tired of it fast and can't eat much, but the seasoning here was just right, so wrapping a piece of tender Hanton pork galbi with crunchy pickled onion and a slice of garlic in a fresh lettuce leaf for a big bite — ugh, so good!!!

Doenjang stew and side dishes at Sannae Sutbul Galbi
I found myself craving a savory broth and warm rice, so I ordered doenjang stew (fermented soybean paste stew) on the side. It was packed with tofu, zucchini, mushrooms, onion and more, so the broth tasted even richer and more refreshing.

Overall, both the side dishes and the sides were all delicious!!

The seasoned scallion (pamuchim) was tasty too, and the well-fermented kimchi was refreshingly tangy, haha.

Finishing the meal by wrapping pork galbi in naengmyeon
With a few pieces of galbi still left, we ordered Sannae Sutbul Galbi's naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) too, to bring the meal to a clean finish.

The naengmyeon arrived with a cool broth topped with floating ice slush, crunchy cucumber and egg as garnish!

Wrapping a piece of grilled charcoal pork galbi around a bite of cold noodles and eating them together — warm, sweet meat and cold, tangy noodles — was perfect!!!!!

Why I'd recommend Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch as a Bakdal-dong meat restaurant
The meat itself is excellent, but with every single side dish so carefully prepared, this is an easy recommendation if you're looking for a great meat restaurant in Bakdal-dong!! Definitely worth a visit to Sannae Sutbul Galbi Bakdal Branch near Bakdal Market!!
