Is Hanmaeum Meat in Songdo Timespace easy to get to?

Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant Songdo Timespace branch is inside the Songdo Timespace building, so it's easy to reach and parking is convenient. On a lovely sunny day, I went and demolished some pork here.

Since it's in Songdo Timespace, access was great, and parking is easy, so it's a good place to visit by car.

I usually love aged meat, so I came with high hopes, and the quality was better than I expected. I left totally stuffed and happy.

What are the atmosphere and kids' zone like?

The restaurant is spacious and clean, with a large kids' zone that's rare in Songdo. It felt super clean, like it had just opened, and the space was roomy and comfortable. The tables are spaced well, with nothing noisy or stuffy, so the overall mood was good.

With a big kids' zone that's rare in Songdo, parents can eat in peace.

The kids had zero interest in the meat and just played happily in the kids' zone the whole time. If eating out is hard because your child whines at every restaurant, I totally recommend this place.

Which cuts come in the aged half-pig set?

The restaurant focuses on just two meats, pork and beef, and if you go with a group, a half or whole animal set is the way to go. You can mix it up with a half or whole set.

I ordered the aged half-pig set, and I loved trying samgyeopsal (pork belly), ogyeopsal (five-layer pork belly), moksal (pork neck), hangjeongsal (pork jowl), gabrisal (pork collar muscle) and more.

It came out as a full plate of thick, well-marbled meat that looked seriously delicious.

How did the 144-hour aged meat taste?

I'm told the pork here goes through two aging rounds over 144 hours at 2℃. Maybe because of the aging, the color was lovely and the balance of fat and lean looked great.

Doesn't the sizzling sound alone sound delicious? A nutty aroma started to spread, and just watching it cook woke up my appetite.

The grill plate itself cooks meat nicely, so it looked tasty just sitting there.

Crispy outside, juicy inside: golden on the surface and moist within, and you could feel the juices.

This wasn't greasy samgyeopsal with nothing else going on. Maybe thanks to the aging, I could taste real depth of flavor, and it got nuttier the more I chewed.

What are the side dishes and free service items?

The side dishes are generous, and scallion jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles) and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) in an earthenware pot come as free service. The sides were plentiful too, which made everything even better.

The scallion jjolmyeon is the real kicker. This is the first BBQ place in my life that serves jjolmyeon as a freebie! It's spicy and so good, and great with the meat.

The big pot of doenjang jjigae is free service too.

However good the meat is, you get tired of it if it's all you eat, but with so many things to eat alongside, I just kept going without a break.

Is Hanmaeum Meat a good choice for aged meat in Songdo?

Hanmaeum Meat reportedly has its aging technique officially certified by Germany's Moguntia Food Group. It's not just a marketing line: when I ate it, I really felt the tenderness and flavor typical of aged meat. The meat was fresh, and each cut had its own nuttiness and personality, so I had a great meal.

If you're looking for a BBQ place in Songdo, I totally recommend it for company dinners, family meals or get-togethers with friends!
