Seongsu tonkatsu at ₩11,500 and mixed katsu at ₩17,000: Kosi

There are so many good restaurants in Seongsu that it's honestly hard to decide where to go! Today I visited a newly opened spot, Kosi Seongsu Branch, for when I'm craving crispy tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet). This much flavor for this price... the value is seriously good, so let me introduce it right away!!

Location and hours of Kosi Seongsu Branch

Kosi Seongsu Branch is on the 1st floor of 31 Sangwon 1-gil, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, near Ttukseom Station. Hours are daily 11am–9pm, with a break time from 3pm to 5pm. It's a newly opened Japanese tonkatsu restaurant that apparently has already gotten word-of-mouth for being tasty, because waits kept building up! (I recommend going before 5pm!!)

Kosi Seongsu Branch had an overall clean and comfortable atmosphere. It felt like a space that would suit anything from solo dining to a date!

Menu and prices at Kosi Seongsu Branch

What I ordered at Kosi Seongsu Branch was the tonkatsu (₩11,500) and the mixed katsu set (₩17,000)~! Kosi Seongsu Branch has a variety of Japanese dishes, from basic tonkatsu to bukkake udon, so you can pick according to your taste! Everything looked so good that I really struggled to decide what to eat.

Wow,,,,, this was a moment where the owner's thoughtfulness really showed! There were so many seasonings and condiments that go well with tonkatsu, and I loved that!! Somehow small, thoughtful touches like this make you feel even happier.

The tonkatsu that came out first! The golden-brown fried look was insane,,,, taking a bite, the breading was crispy while the inside stayed moist, and the more I chewed the more I could taste the flavor of the meat!

Can you see the thick meat and thin breading.....? If only I lived closer, I'd be a regular ㅠㅠ They gave a generous amount of salad too, which was touching haha The tonkatsu wasn't greasy at all either, so I could enjoy it without any burden all the way through! It was also delicious eaten with the rice that came alongside🤍

Kosi Seongsu Branch banban katsu set, cheese and tonkatsu together

Banban katsu is a dish where cheese and tonkatsu come out together, and since the texture and flavor were different, it was fun to alternate between the two — I could enjoy it all the way through without getting tired of it! Watching the cheese stretch out makes me want to eat it again lol

I ordered the banban katsu as a set, so delicious udon came with it too! The noodles were really chewy and tasty haha If you're visiting for the first time, I think this is a great menu for figuring out what you like! If you tend to agonize over the menu, trust me and order the banban katsu!!!!!!!!! (real recommendation)

Kosi Seongsu Branch review event: sweet potato cheese croquette

A review event I never skip,,,,haha I picked the sweet potato croquette, and you guys,,, it's seriously delicious!!!!!!!! The satisfaction was as high as the tonkatsu, so I think I'll order it as a side next time! I ate well again today :-)

If you're looking for affordable tonkatsu in Seongsu

I normally like tonkatsu, so I visited with high expectations, and it ended up being even more satisfying than I expected haha. The combination of crispy breading and moist meat was great, and both the tonkatsu and the banban katsu had their own charm, so I could enjoy it deliciously all the way through! If you want a filling meal in Seongsu, or you're looking for a good-value tonkatsu spot, I think it's worth a visit🥹 I think I'll come back again next time I'm in Seongsu!
