Handmade Russian volume lash extensions in Gongdeok: Lash Avenue

On top is my bare eye — my lashes are so short I can't even look in a mirror without extensions! Below is the doll-like eye I got with Russian volume lashes, way fuller. This is why I can never quit lash extensions... I got these done today at Lash Avenue in Gongdeok!

The lashes below look so much fuller than my usual extensions, right? Instead of the single-strand natural style, I went with natural Russian volume lash extensions, and my eyes are so much clearer and fuller now!

How to find Lash Avenue from Gongdeok Station exit 6

Lash Avenue Gongdeok is next to the building you see right as you exit Gongdeok Station's exit 6 — that's Metro D Oville — and it's in the Pentrouse apartment commercial building right beside it. This is the Gongdeok branch, so don't mix it up with the Mapo Gongdeok branch when you're heading there!

If you find the CU convenience store here, there's still a passage on the right side of this photo, past the CU. Duck in through there.

Then you'll get this view. Go under the Woogachon Seolleongtang sign and go straight, and Lash Avenue Gongdeok is right there.

As soon as you walk in, a neatly arranged waiting area with tasty snacks greets you.

I love beauty shops that have a sink inside for washing hands. It makes me feel like the staff can wash their hands again before treatments and keep things clean, and I also have a habit of washing my hands first thing when I arrive.

Waxing, nails and lashes in one visit

This is the waxing room — I couldn't get a photo of the nail area since someone was getting their nails done. The waxing room is private and has its own shower, and the lash area can handle two clients at the same time.

There were so many lash styles to choose from that I couldn't decide, so I asked my technician to help pick what would suit my eyes best.

When I think of Russian volume, I usually picture something super flashy and doll-like, but this time we consulted and went with a Russian volume style that kept things natural. Russian volume uses several thin lash strands fanned out for fullness, so it gives noticeably more volume than regular extensions — that's the appeal.

My real lashes are... honestly this flat and volume-less.

What makes handmade Russian volume different?

What I especially liked about Lash Avenue Gongdeok was that it's handmade Russian volume. Since each fan is built and attached strand by strand, the volume could be adjusted to suit my eye shape, and the result had a nicely fanned-out look. I was told that the advantage of handmade Russian volume is that it lasts longer!!

With the lashes lifted and full, my eyes look definitely clearer, and even from the side the lashes have a lovely presence.

And when it's all done, you get to pick a lash brush in whatever color you like!!! I went with holographic pink ^^

How the lashes looked with makeup the next day

The next day, dressed up with just blush and no eyeliner, it looked so pretty!!!! Since the Russian volume lashes were handmade and applied one by one, they look so much fuller than regular extensions. But it's not overly flashy either — the natural Russian volume style struck just the right balance of fullness and naturalness. Doll eyes haha

If you want fullness while keeping things natural, like me, I think natural Russian volume is worth trying. I was worried Russian volume would be too flashy and over the top, but because it was the natural version, it wasn't overwhelming at all — just pretty and put together.
