It's an easy walk from Exit 4 of Saenae Station. The no-break-time policy was the first thing that caught my eye. You can show up for a late lunch or an early dinner without watching the clock. I felt it's a plus for office-worker meals, and also for anyone looking for a company dinner or group gathering spot in Jamsilsaenae.

Namhae Fish Jamsilsaenae Branch feels open thanks to its high ceilings and large windows. The first things I noticed when I walked in were exactly those: the high ceiling and the big windows. A wide-open space with nothing stuffy about it.
The bright, tidy interior made the meal comfortable. Tables are spaced generously, so I think it suits dates as well as family meals, group gatherings and company dinners. Room to breathe. The openness of big windows.
There's plenty of seating further inside too, so a larger group shouldn't be a problem. Neatly arranged tables and the lighting make the whole place feel even more relaxed.

Namhae Fish lunch specials and course menu
The menu at Namhae Fish Jamsilsaenae Branch is wide, from a simple lunch like aged sashimi hoedeopbap (sashimi rice bowl) to courses like the kelp-aged sashimi set. I liked the range, from a light meal all the way up to a full course.
There are aged sashimi rice bowls, soy salmon rice bowls, soy shrimp rice bowls, plus aged sashimi sushi, grilled mackerel and mulhoe, so you can pick to taste. What comes in the Namhae Fish kelp-aged sashimi set?
I ordered the kelp-aged sashimi set (₩39,000 per person), and with two servings the table filled up. Centered on the kelp-aged sashimi, it comes in order: an appetizer porridge, futomaki (thick sushi roll), shrimp soy sushi, mulhoe, yurinki (crispy fried chicken with tangy sauce), braised fish, and spicy fish stew to close the meal. A complete spread. The fun of a meal that unfolds like a course.

The dishes don't all arrive at once but one after another, so you can take your time. You get to try lots of dishes in small amounts, which makes it a good course for company dinners and family gatherings.

Kelp-aged sashimi, with red sea bream the standout
The kelp-aged sashimi was what I was looking forward to most in the set, and among the cuts the sea bream (chamdom) impressed me most. It had the chewy texture typical of kelp aging, and the flavor of the aged fish came through deeper.
The sea bream stayed clean yet nutty, and it was the first thing my chopsticks went for. The charm of aging. The nutty flavor of sea bream.

Futomaki and soy-marinated shrimp sushi
The kelp-aged sashimi set isn't just sashimi; it also brings sushi like futomaki and shrimp soy sushi, plus sides, which I liked. The futomaki was packed with fillings, so each bite had a mix of textures, and in the shrimp soy sushi the tender shrimp and subtle soy sauce went well together. Plenty of choice. A spread with lots to enjoy.

Not just the main aged sashimi but the dishes that follow one after another made the flow of the meal feel natural. You can enjoy small amounts of many dishes, so it suits anyone who wants to try a variety of flavors.

Yurinki, braised fish and spicy fish stew to finish
Later in the set come the yurinki and braised fish, and the meal ends with maeuntang (spicy fish stew). The yurinki was crispy with a tangy sauce that woke up my appetite, and the braised fish had a salty-savory seasoning that went well with rice.
The last dish is the maeuntang. Its sharp, spicy broth cleaned up my palate and was a fitting way to end the course. A spread that runs from start to finish. A hearty ending.

Who should visit Namhae Fish Jamsilsaenae Branch?
Namhae Fish Jamsilsaenae Branch is worth a visit if you want an aged-sashimi-centered course in Jamsilsaenae. What I remember most is the chewy kelp-aged sashimi and the sea bream.
With no break time you can visit without worrying about the clock, and the high-ceilinged, big-window layout and clean interior make for a comfortable meal. Lunch has a range of specials starting from ₩9,900, easy on the wallet, and in the evening the courses seem a good choice for company dinners, group gatherings and anyone looking for a place for a drink.
