Sometimes you just crave meat, but cooking it at home is such a hassle and you need that proper grill plate — so I found this neighborhood spot instead.

A Jamsilsaenae restaurant with a name and exterior that already stand out. It was raining, so I was craving something greasy and meaty — time to visit!

What Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch looks like inside
I went in early evening so it wasn't too crowded yet, but it filled up more and more as the evening went on. And for a BBQ place, the interior is kept surprisingly clean — some places have leftover grease everywhere, but Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch was spotless.

They seated us somewhere nice and cool with the AC blasting. A grill plate plus a bowl for self-serve bar trips!!
How much is it? ₩18,900 per person, ordered on a tablet
Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch costs ₩18,900 per person. With so many options and unlimited refills, it's pretty good value!

You order per person via the tablet at your table, and any side dishes not on the self-serve bar can also be added through the tablet.
Which shaved meats and what's on the self-serve bar
There's a genuinely huge variety of meat, which is great. Perfect for when you're craving cold pork belly or shaved pork belly!
The meat counter is stocked front and back, with detailed descriptions of each cut. It's frozen, but kept neat and well-managed, and staff keep checking and restocking so you never run out.
And something I really loved: the self-serve tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). It's genuinely delicious, so I had to hold back a bit so I wouldn't fill up before the meat.

There are also wrap vegetables and other veggies you can grill alongside the meat, self-serve. Kimchi, bean sprouts, and bracken taste even better grilled on the plate, so grab plenty.

Unlimited soju, slushies and the Paldo sauce bar
And here's a fact that'll make drinkers happy: pay a flat fee per person at the table and get unlimited soju,,,, unlimited meat plus unlimited soju sounds like the perfect way to really enjoy this place. There's also self-serve fried rice, so watch how others make it and take notes!

Another great thing about Muhan Paldo Daepae,,, they really do have sauces from all eight provinces of Korea, so you can try a huge variety. And if you like one, you can just take a lot more of it, which is so nice? The sweet-and-salty all-purpose sauce was really tasty too.
Of course, you need ID for alcohol! And there are slushies for minors who can't drink. I used to have those a lot as a kid haha.

Bringing back an armful from the self-serve bar haha. But honestly, just looking at this, the side dishes are so generous, right? Definitely worth calling a Jamsilsaenae favorite,,
Starting with beef brisket daepae, plus grilled kimchi and bean sprouts
Personally I love beef brisket daepae so I started right there~ The color of the meat is amazing, right haha. It cooks really fast too, which was great since I was starving.

Rice is also unlimited, so scooping a little and eating it with side dishes and meat is a great way to enjoy the meal.

And grilling kimchi and bean sprouts is seriously amazing. Kimchi grilled in meat drippings is the best.

Two bowls of ramen from the Hangang ramen machine
If you get a little tired of just meat, heading straight to the self-serve ramen station and boiling up a bowl is the best thing ever ㅠㅠㅠ There are several kinds of ramen too, so you can pick whatever you want, and since it's unlimited, ramen lovers can just keep eating it alongside the meat.
Boiled up some Jin Ramen right away haha. But it's genuinely more chewy and even more delicious made with the Hangang Ramen Machine ㅠ

And back to eating meat non-stop. I'm not much of a big eater so I sometimes feel a bit let down at all-you-can-eat places, but at Muhan Paldo Daepae you can really try everything while still eating unlimited, so I think it's great for light eaters too.

Grabbed a fresh variety of meat to start round two haha.

This really seems like a place where big eaters could go all out, and it's a great pick as a Jamsil favorite too.

The ramen was so good I had another bowl haha. So many types available, so this time I tried a different kind — the combo with meat is unbeatable, as always.

Finishing with fried rice made on the grill
After eating a wide variety of meat and getting a little full, I made sure to save room for fried rice haha.
Straight to the self-serve bar to scoop up rice haha. There's kimchi and seaweed specifically for fried rice, so drizzle on some sesame oil and you're set!

You fry it yourself right on the grill — maybe because the grill plate doesn't stick, chopping up the leftover meat, adding the fried rice ingredients, and frying it all up makes for perfect fried rice. With a good drizzle of sesame oil, it was genuinely delicious. Seriously so good ㅠㅠ
Cleaned my plate properly. Thanks for the meal.
Who is Muhan Paldo Daepae best for?
It seems like a lot of students come here together too, which makes sense — it's a Jamsilsaenae favorite that's fun for kids and adults alike, so I highly recommend it!! Finishing off with a cup of domestic hovenia tea sounds perfect too! Great for chatting with friends over food, and also great for family outings — highly recommend.
