Vegan matcha soy milk powder with water only: Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Jeju
In short
Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Jeju Matcha instant soy milk powder (Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Seoritae 타먹는 생두유 제주말차) is a vegan-certified matcha soy milk powder made from just four ingredients: soybean, matcha, unrefined cane sugar and sea salt. The recommended ratio on the pack is two of the included milk-powder scoops to 180ml of water, but three scoops were used here in both hot and cold water, and even with no milk at all the result was a rich, barely sweet matcha soy latte. Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Jeju Matcha suits anyone with lactose intolerance or anyone who reads ingredient labels closely.

A healthy, delicious, stomach-friendly matcha latte you can enjoy anytime, anywhere — that's Garuseonsaeng Seoritae's Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha.
What is Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Jeju Matcha soy milk powder?

I brought a review of a mix-it-yourself soy latte powder that lets you drink rich matcha lattes healthily, easily, and in as much quantity as you want. Let's head off to a place full of matcha aroma.
What the Garuseonsaeng Seoritae package looks like
The Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha package is really transparent about what's inside. On top of the fine pale-green powder there's just a simple Jeju matcha illustration, a 'Korean matcha' label, and a green gradient — that's it.

The Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Taemeogneun Saengduyu series comes in flavors beyond matcha too — mugwort, injeolmi (rice cake), chocolate, and more — and each package captures its flavor well. (If I get the chance, I definitely want to try the chocolate one too.) There's also a vegan mark on it. It's a healthy, gut-friendly plant-protein product, and we'll dig into that in the ingredient breakdown.

The included milk-powder scoop. You measure with this, but since it's a powder product, you can totally adjust the amount to your taste.
Only four ingredients: what's inside

Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha has exactly 4 raw ingredients. I love that Garuseonsaeng Seoritae products keep their ingredient lists really simple.

Soybean (Korean) 60.5%, matcha (Korean) 9%, unrefined cane sugar (Thailand), sea salt. Unrefined cane sugar is sugar that keeps the molasses instead of separating it out, going through only minimal heating.

And the most important part, matcha. With green tea you steep the leaves and discard them, but with matcha you grind the whole leaf and drink all of it. So the flavor is stronger and you take in the fiber too. It's grown shaded from light, and to keep photosynthesizing under those conditions the chlorophyll increases a lot, which is apparently why the leaves turn such a deep color. We'll look more closely at that deep green in the texture section.
Powder color, aroma and texture
Through the bag it looks like a clear pale green, but

once you open the bag and look at the contents inside, it's genuinely green. The moment you open it, a rich, fresh, delicious aroma hits you, like being at a matcha field in Jeju. It's a little like N* green tea ice cream scent — not a faint aroma, a very strong one.

True to Garuseonsaeng Seoritae form, the texture is fine like powder. It makes you want to just eat it with a spoon.
How it tastes mixed with hot water

Since I prefer my matcha lattes hot, I decided to try it warm first.

You scoop it with the included milk-powder spoon — I greedily heaped it over the top and insisted it was still 'one serving.' Haha. Apparently two scoops to 180ml of water is the exact right ratio.

But since I wanted a lot,

I scooped in three spoons. It's a 500g big-size bag so this barely makes a dent, and the great thing about powder products is you can eat exactly as much as you want... hehe.

Once you put as much as you like into a cup, a rich matcha aroma completely fills the space.

Into the Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha in the mug,

I pour hot water.

Even with just water poured in, it dissolves fairly well and fluffy bubbles start to rise.

Garuseonsaeng Seoritae products dissolve well even in cold water, so for hot water I really only stirred it two or three times. Sure enough, it dissolved cleanly with no leftover powder. Even mixed with just water, the color is really deep.

The taste isn't just a green tea latte — there's a clear soy milk latte feel to it. The matcha latte flavor is strongest, backed up by a nuttiness like misugaru (roasted grain powder) or job's tears. Mixed with just water, no milk, it's genuinely rich, not sweet, slightly bitter, and refined. There's barely any sweetness, yet it's delicious.
Why cold water tastes even better

It was so good hot that I tried it cold too. Mixed with cold water, the color is even prettier. The powder dissolved completely again this time, no residue.

It feels more refreshing and clears your head a bit. Personally, I think cold is even tastier. Turns out there's a reason the product page has so many iced matcha latte photos, haha. After drinking it I felt pretty full too — perfect as a meal replacement or dessert on a busy morning.
Who this matcha soy milk powder is for

I'd recommend Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha to people like these.
- Anyone who loves the taste of matcha — this isn't a cheap, sweet flavor, it's genuinely rich, fresh matcha itself
- Anyone who loves matcha lattes but has lactose intolerance — since it's soy-based, you can drink it worry-free
- Anyone who checks ingredient lists carefully — this flavor comes from just 4 ingredients
- Anyone who's vegetarian/vegan — it's vegan certified

This is my second review of a Garuseonsaeng Seoritae product, and it really feels like a brand I can trust and eat with confidence. Each product also has its own distinct charm. Hoping it keeps looking after my husband's and my mornings and late-night snacks going forward — that's the end of my Garuseonsaeng Seoritae Taemeogneun Saengduyu Jeju Matcha review.
