The weather was so nice that I took a half day off and left work early! ♡ I went to Brivite Seongsu in Seongsu-dong with a friend who loves Western food, in search of a good restaurant.

You know that special Seongsu vibe, where wandering the alleys is half the fun? Brivite has a gorgeous entrance too, like the boss of the alley 🩷 It was shining all by itself on this street, haha.

What are the seats and atmosphere like inside Brivite Seongsu?
Brivite Seongsu has widely spaced tables and an open kitchen. We took a two-person seat by the window with lots of natural light.
The tables are spaced far apart, so it felt airy and open. The kitchen is open too, so you can see the chef working hard.
We came around 2 pm on a weekday, when the crowd had thinned a bit, but guests kept coming in, probably because there's no break time. Most were couples on dates, plus lots of foreign guests. Lots of women too, so the vibe and the food felt like a sure thing 💕
They brought us the menu and small plates.

Tips on napkins, the self bar and the restroom
Even Brivite's napkins and wet wipes are cute..♡ The quality was so good I almost wanted to take one home.
Before the food came out, I went to the self bar and brought back some pickles.

How does the spicy fried eggplant at Brivite Seongsu taste?
The drinks came out first, and even the straws match the drinks. That color coordination is part of Brivite's charm, I think.
The spicy fried eggplant is Brivite's signature side. It comes with a lightly grilled lemon to squeeze over it.
Dipped in the spicy chipotle sauce, it was delicious. The batter is so crunchy you could do ASMR with it, crispy outside and tender inside, the real deal.
Are the clams generous in the spicy vongole oil pasta?
The spicy vongole oil pasta at Brivite Seongsu is an oil pasta packed with clams, known for its savory depth and clean taste. Let me mix it up and dig in. When I lifted the noodles, I could see so many clams hiding underneath. The sauce looked like it would have a refreshing flavor.
Every clam was plump too. These weren't skimpy little manila clams, there were lots of big, hard-clam-like ones 👍🏻 I topped a forkful of pasta with the chubby clam meat! I recommend this as your main pasta 🍝
What does the porcini shrimp gnocchi taste like?
At first glance, the porcini shrimp gnocchi looks like carpaccio. It's a pink-beige dish that suits Brivite's color palette.
The gnocchi was so soft and nutty. The shrimp were quite big too 🦐 so you get a mouthful of them with sauce-soaked gnocchi. 🍄 Since it's porcini gnocchi, I ate the mushrooms along with it. A dish that gives you both texture and flavor.
Brivite Seongsu verdict: which dish is the top pick?
Living up to its name as a great pasta spot in Seongsu, my top pick was the spicy vongole oil pasta, and my friend's was the spicy fried eggplant. Brivite is worth recommending as a brunch restaurant in Seongsu. It feels like arriving at a picnic from the entrance, the atmosphere is lovely, and above all the food is delicious.
Next time, I want to try other dishes too. The scallion cream corn gnocchi, salmon steak pasta and Brivite steak all look intriguing~~
