Jamsil Korean BBQ, then whack-a-mole and soft-serve: Migang Sikdang
In short
Migang Sikdang is a pre-grilled samgyeopsal (pork belly) Korean BBQ restaurant in Songpa, Seoul, at the Asia Athletes' Village Apartment three-way intersection between Samjeon and Sports Complex stations. At Migang Sikdang we had the 2-person set with truffle oil Chapagetti (black bean instant noodles) and half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) for dessert, then played whack-a-mole and Pac-Man out front and helped ourselves at the soft-serve ice cream machine. Staff pre-grill each cut for you, and thoughtful touches like the self-serve bar and glass phone box make Migang Sikdang a Jamsil BBQ spot we'd gladly return to.

Migang Sikdang menu and prices

How do you get to Migang Sikdang, and what's it like inside?
Migang Sikdang is located between Samjeon Station and Sports Complex Station, at the U-turn point near the Asia Athletes' Village Apartment triangle. I'd recommend taking the bus rather than the subway!

There were various arcade games set up in front of Migang Sikdang. That'd be great for keeping kids from getting bored while waiting when the place is full. I caught a few moles and played some Pac-Man after my meal to help digest, haha 😊

The interior was pretty clean! The tables were spaced nicely apart, and the ventilation was good so there was no smoke lingering. There was also space under the chairs to store coats or bags, which was handy.
Turns out the owner used to work at the Hilton in Atlanta! A chef with hotel experience taking on samgyeopsal with confidence? I was so excited even before eating 💗
They also donate to the Red Cross and UNICEF — such an upstanding business! Places with this kind of positive influence really deserve to thrive ✨
What we ordered at Migang Sikdang
- 2-person set
- Truffle oil jjapaguri
- Half-and-half naengmyeon (dessert)

Migang Sikdang side dishes and self-serve bar

The basic side dishes at Migang Sikdang include lettuce wraps and cherry tomatoes sourced from Garak Market, plus scallions you can grill over the charcoal fire. The owner apparently sources these ingredients personally, taking ingredient quality seriously.
There's a self-serve bar in the restaurant where you can grab more lettuce wraps and side dishes, and even make your own dipping sauces like sesame oil salt! They even had danggwi (angelica leaves) on hand! The owner really knows food 👍🏻

The self-serve bar was neatly organized! And they even had ketchup and mayonnaise.
Even if you don't go to the self-serve bar, all kinds of sauces are already set up on the table for easy access! Where does the owner learn this kind of thoughtfulness..💚
And another amazing thing! There's a clear glass holder on the table where you can prop up your phone! Thanks to that, no meat grease splatters on your phone, and you can watch videos comfortably while eating! Wet wipes were also kept right in the utensil holder, so you didn't need to call over a staff member for that either.
How is the grill set up at Migang Sikdang?

The edges of the grill at Migang Sikdang are divided into four zones — going clockwise from the left, you get grilled kimchi, corn cheese, grilled garlic, and steamed egg. Getting all of this on one grill was the biggest perk!
It looked like a house-made sauce — a ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) base with various vegetables mixed in. Once it simmers down, the nutty flavor really comes alive. It was delicious!

Migang Sikdang 2-person set: pre-grilling order and pork jowl
At Migang Sikdang, the staff first show you the raw meat that will be used that day, then take it back to pre-grill it. Being shown the quality of the raw meat before it's pre-grilled really builds trust.

For the 2-person set, the pre-grilling order was pork jowl → pork belly → pork neck.
Just look at that pork jowl visual... this is truly a texture genius. It's thick-cut too, so it has that great chewy bite. I need to go back just for this, seriously

Pickled scallions and peppers, seasoned bean sprouts, various lettuce wraps — everything tastes amazing no matter what you pair it with. I loved being able to mix and match so many combinations 😆

Snacked on some corn cheese in between~
The lettuce wraps were so fresh! I always eat meat wrapped in leaves, so it's disappointing when the greens are wilting, but at Migang Sikdang the stems were still firm and vibrant, like they'd just been picked — the perilla leaf and angelica scents really came through nicely!

Plus, when you order drinks, you get a chilled ice bucket with branded cups featuring the restaurant's logo! The ice bucket kept things cold to the very end, and it was fun sipping beer like it was champagne haha

Beehive-cut pork skin and grilled vegetables at Migang Sikdang
Migang Sikdang is also great for pork skin. I really love pork skin, and I tend to prefer the honeycomb-cut version over the flat kind for its texture, so this was exactly my type!

Chewy on the outside, tender on the inside — dipping it in the nutty soybean powder cuts through the richness of the skin and makes it an endless snack you just keep reaching for haha

You can also grill vegetables however you like! The grilled cherry tomatoes and scallions were amazing 👍🏻
Is Migang Sikdang's truffle oil Chapagetti worth ordering?

I was craving something specific today so I ordered the truffle oil jjapaguri at Migang Sikdang, and this was amazing — you have to order it!

Is there anything more reliably delicious than jjapaguri with chicken and cheese? I was exactly in the mood for that combo today. The truffle aroma is subtle, but this is a side dish you absolutely won't regret! The flavor is amazing when eaten together with the meat 😉
Half-and-half naengmyeon: cold broth and spicy noodles in one bowl

The half-and-half naengmyeon (cold noodles) dessert at Migang Sikdang lets you enjoy both water-based and mixed naengmyeon in one bowl. I ordered it for dessert right when things were starting to feel a bit greasy.
Getting to eat both mul-naengmyeon and bibim-naengmyeon at once! Plus, each half comes with its own half of an egg, which was the icing on the cake 🤩 The mul-naengmyeon paired well with the braised short rib, and the tangy bibim-naengmyeon went great with the regular grilled meats! Highly recommend 👍🏻
After the meal, you can help yourself to as much soft-serve ice cream as you want from the machine outside the restaurant! A perfect dessert to end the meal ✨💛 Kids would love this 🍦

Final verdict on Migang Sikdang
Migang Sikdang in Songpa was great because the staff bring out pre-grilled meat, so the flow of the meal never stops and you can keep eating without waiting around. Between the games outside and the dessert, you can really feel the owner's consideration for guests.
Honestly, it's not common for a BBQ place to have things like ketchup and mayonnaise on hand, right?! Migang Sikdang has this vibe of 'we prepared everything just in case you needed it~' I felt well taken care of in every way, which made for a really satisfying meal.

The meat quality speaks for itself! The set menu composition was great, and I was very satisfied with the service too, so I'd definitely go back! If you're looking for a solid BBQ spot in Jamsil, I recommend Migang Sikdang! 👍🏻
