Looking for a bar near Nonhyeon Station where you can get that outdoor-terrace feeling along with motsunabe (Korean beef intestine hot pot) that tastes just like the real thing in Japan!? I went to Gobusi Nonhyeon Branch and had motsunabe and yakitori. If you visit, you absolutely have to order the motsunabe!!! It's that good~~

Inside Gobusi: a proper Japanese izakaya mood

Overall the place has a real Japanese izakaya feel — a clean space decorated with just the right amount of accent, not overdone at all!

In this kind of season there's terrace seating too, so it's the perfect mood for a draft beer! The terrace was already full so we ate inside, and the interior had that full Japanese izakaya atmosphere too~ The owner and staff were all so warm haha, everyone was kind, and we had a great time eating!

There's a menu of the day too, and it playfully says below that if it's not tasty, some 'executive director' from XX company will pay instead lol. Challenge accepted?

Do you need a reservation at Gobusi on weekends?
When we arrived and sat down, they set the table for us — we'd reserved by phone beforehand so luckily there was a seat, but everywhere except the reserved tables was full when we got there! Seems like on weekends you need a reservation to avoid waiting. There were a lot of inquiry calls coming in before we visited, and staff handled all of them kindly 👍
Ordering by table tablet: what we got and what it cost

You order using the tablet at the table~ Here's what we got:
- ✔ Motsunabe (Korean beef intestine hot pot), miso flavor ₩34,000
- ✔ 7-skewer yakitori platter ₩22,000
- ✔ Asahi draft beer ₩9,000
- ✔ Saero (soju) ₩6,000
The free starter at Gobusi was better than expected

The complimentary side dish that came out was a winner too! Starting with a cold beer — pure happiness ❤
Miso motsunabe, 34,000 won: as good as hot pot in Japan

The motsunabe came out first and it was satisfying just to look at! Loaded with beef intestine, tofu, pollock roe, tsukune (chicken meatballs), burdock root, and chives~ and the staff even tell you the right moment to start eating, so all you have to do is wait!

Before tasting it, I was already satisfied just by looking at it — after tasting it, it genuinely tasted like the motsunabe I've had in Japan.

They're confident enough in this dish to sell it as a meal kit, and it showed — nearly every table had ordered one! The broth is really rich, and the miso soup goes so well with the pollock roe and tsukune 👍

Broth refills at Gobusi are free
Usually when a broth is this rich and tasty, refills are hard to come by, but Gobusi doesn't charge extra for broth refills — as a broth lover, I was so happy!!

For sauce, there's a soy dipping sauce and chili flakes for when you want a spicy kick — I dipped mine in the sauce on my own plate and piled on the chili flakes haha. The broth was so good I asked for a refill too.

When a place is confident about a dish, you should always order it! It was so, so good 👍
The 7-kind assorted skewer platter, 22,000 won

Picking each skewer individually seemed like a hassle so we ordered the platter. The price difference from ordering individually isn't huge, so picking just what you want is also a good option!

When an order goes in, the kitchen puts on a little fire show with the flames shooting up, but every time I tried to film it, it was already over — I'm sad I didn't get a shot lol.

What was disappointing at Gobusi Nonhyeon Branch
The beef tongue and heart skewers were so good I wanted more but I was too full to order any lol. The mountain yam was sold out, and I hope they bring it back soon!! If I had to pick something to complain about, it's that the mountain yam was sold out so I couldn't try it,

and that I couldn't capture the yakitori fire show on camera ㅠㅠ
Verdict: who should visit Gobusi Nonhyeon Branch
- ✔ Anyone looking for a good-vibe izakaya near Nonhyeon Station
- ✔ Anyone who loves a rich-broth motsunabe
- ✔ Anyone who wants a draft beer out on the terrace
I'd recommend Gobusi Nonhyeon Branch as a bar near Nonhyeon Station. Thanks for the meal!
