Here comes the refreshing yuzu sour and cola!! The complimentary side dishes, quail eggs and chewy konjac braise, arrived too~

Motsunabe and chicken skin fritter set, 45,000 won: how spicy is it?

Gobusi Nonhyeon's motsunabe comes in a choice of miso or spicy broth, with the chicken skin fritter set for ₩45,000. We got the spicy version, and it was spicier than Shin Ramyun but milder than Buldak Bokkeummyeon — a solid medium heat.

The motsunabe comes in miso or spicy flavor, so it's easy to pick (broth refills available)

With Korean beef large intestine, chives, salted pollack roe, tofu, and something I thought was ham but turned out to be tsukune (chicken meatballs) — a surprising, hearty motsunabe~~

The tender, savory large intestine looks so good, doesn't it — it soaks up the spicy broth and deepens the flavor. Spicier than Shin Ramyun, milder than Buldak Bokkeummyeon, a nice sharp broth

A great mix of textures with the meaty tsukune, tofu, and pollack roe — a real find among Nonhyeon Station izakayas

The chicken skin fritters

Then the crispy chicken skin fritter arrived!! Generously sized pieces too

Covered in salty seasoning, packed with umami — best bar snack ever~~ Bite in and it shatters like a cracker, crispy and salty and totally addictive, you just keep reaching for more

Assorted skewers, 7 kinds, 22,000 won

The 7-piece assorted skewer platter is ₩22,000, and the skewer types come randomly. Here they come, grilled to perfection on the hot plate!!

(Skewer types are random!!) Ginkgo nuts and heart, chicken skin, cheese bacon, asparagus with bacon, and chicken cartilage~~

Each one has its own charm, so it's fun to pick and try one by one — at an izakaya near Sinsa Station, honestly, skipping the skewers would be a shame

Beef tongue tataki, 23,000 won

I've had plenty of beef tataki before, but never beef tongue tataki, so I had to order it right away~ so curious

In the middle there's perilla leaf, onion, young sprouts, and wasabi sauce — eating them together gives it a fresh kick that whets the appetite

Chewy yet melts in your mouth — beef tongue really is delicious~~~~

The pairing with wasabi is love too

On the way out I noticed ✨✨✨ they also sell the motsunabe as a meal kit that we enjoyed so much~~~✨✨✨ (apparently it's also sold on Naver Store!)

With its calm, Japanese-inspired atmosphere, I'd recommend this as a top izakaya near Sinsa Station
