Seongsu night café: bocado dipped in butter cream latte, Bocado Butter
In short
Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is a butter-themed dessert café about 230m from Seongsu Station Exit 3 in Seongdong, Seoul. Arriving just in time for the 7:40 PM last order, when coffee had already closed, the writer ordered a butter cream latte for 7,000 won and a bocado for 7,500 won, and dipping the crisp bocado into the latte's cream was the standout pairing. If you want something different from Seongsu's usual cake and coffee, order the Bocado Butter butter cream latte and bocado together.

After dinner in Seongsu, you naturally start thinking about dessert, right? There are plenty of cafés, but I wanted something special you can only get in Seongsu rather than ordinary coffee. That's how I found Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store (보카도버터 성수 본점), which has butter right in its name. I'd heard several times that the butter cream latte is especially good, so I went with a friend.
At first I worried a latte with butter in it might be a bit greasy. But when I actually tried it, it was completely different from what I expected, and the combination with the bocado we ordered alongside it was pretty memorable too ☕️
Location and exterior of Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store
Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is about 230m from Seongsu Station Exit 3. It's not far from the station, so it's a handy stop during a Seongsu date or a café tour.

We visited after dark, and the neon sign shaped like melting butter was bright enough to spot from far away. Yellow and brown tones throughout make it cute while clearly showing the shop's concept. It's the kind of exterior where you'd want to snap a photo even just passing by.
Cutting it close: arriving right before last order
We got there around 7:40 PM. It turned out to be exactly the last order time. We would have missed out if we'd been any later, so we ordered in a hurry.
Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store is open from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with last order at 7:40 PM. It's closed every Tuesday, so if you're visiting in the evening, I'd recommend arriving with a bit more time to spare instead of cutting it close like we did. Maybe because it was late, there was no wait and we could go straight in.

Interior atmosphere and seating
The exterior is cute and flashy, so I assumed the inside would be colorful too, but it was actually quite calm once we stepped in.

Light ivory walls and wood-toned furniture set the mood, with a long bar seat running along one wall and tables that suit two people.

The shop isn't very big, but the space continues toward the back, so it didn't feel as cramped as I expected.

The restroom in particular, with its patterned tiles and large mirror, was so clean it felt more like a small photo zone than a café restroom.
What we ordered and prices
Sadly, coffee had sold out by closing time, but that actually worked out well! They said the butter cream latte was still available, haha. So we ordered a butter cream latte for ₩7,000 and a bocado for ₩7,500, haha.
A drink plus one dessert comes to the mid-₩10,000s, so judging by price alone it isn't cheap. Still, if it's your first visit, I'd recommend trying the two together.

The appeal came through much better when we had them together than when we had them separately.
We both gasped at the first sip: the butter cream latte

I tried the butter cream latte first. A light brown cream sat softly on top of the cup, and even from the surface it looked thick and smooth. At the first sip, the soft cream filled my mouth and a rich, nutty flavor spread.
This is a strike!
My friend and I said something like this almost at the same time, haha. Because of the word butter I expected something heavy and oily, but it wasn't greasy at all. It's not just sweet cream; you taste the nuttiness and the coffee together, so I could finish it without feeling overwhelmed.
The crisp bocado is best dipped in the cream

The bocado was a thin dessert folded into a big half-moon. When I picked it up it held its shape firmly, and you could see thin, crisp layers along the edge. I first took a bite without dipping it in anything. The outside shattered like a cracker, while the inside kept a very slightly moist texture. It had a subtle sweetness too, so I kept reaching for more even plain.

Still, the way I recommend most is dipping the bocado straight into the cream of the butter cream latte. With soft cream on the crisp bocado, the contrast in texture became obvious and the nutty flavor got much richer.

At the end I scraped the leftover cream from the cup with the bocado, and that's when I understood why you should order the two together. It didn't feel like an ordinary drink and dessert pairing; they went together as if they were made to be eaten that way from the start.

Is it worth recommending as a Seongsu dessert?
It was nutty and smooth without being greasy, and it went well with the crisp texture of the bocado. Even if we visit again, I think we'd order this same combination. If you're looking for something a little different from Seongsu's usual cake and coffee, it's worth trying at least once.
If you want a dessert combo in Seongsu that's crisp and soft at the same time, be sure to dip the bocado in the butter cream latte💛
