Sangam gimbap takeout: three yubu flavors at Samhyeongje Gimbap

I stopped by Samhyeongje Gimbap, Sangam branch (삼형제김밥 상암점) after running an errand in Sangam, to buy gimbap to eat on the way to pick up my child. When I need something simple to eat in the car, I tend to look for gimbap because each piece is easy to eat and less likely to spill.

I came to buy something for my child, but I chose three rolls so I could eat with them too. There were various options centered on yubu gimbap, so it was easy to pack different flavors.

Where is it in Nuritkum Square, and is parking available?

Samhyeongje Gimbap, Sangam branch is on basement level 1 of Nuritkum Square, near Zone A.

I parked and went inside, but the building was larger than I expected. The parking area is divided into Zones A, B, C, and D, so I was briefly unsure where to go. It is easier to find the restaurant by using Zone A as your reference.

I found it quickly after walking a little farther. Checking the guide map beside the elevator first makes it easier to locate. Parking support is also available, so it was convenient to stop by by car for takeout.

What kinds of yubu gimbap are available?

There was a brand introduction posted in the shop, and the menu was built around yubu gimbap. The choices included original, wasabi tuna, assorted, ham and imitation crab, cheese, tuna, kimchi tuna, kimchi, imitation crab salad, spicy fish cake, and spicy eomuk.

How do kiosk ordering and self-packing work?

I ordered and paid at the kiosk. If the gimbap I paid for was on the display, I collected and packed it myself. For items that were not there, I simply asked a staff member, who prepared them right away.

I also took as many plastic bags and pairs of chopsticks as I needed. Everything from payment to packing was self-service, but the instructions were clear enough that it was not difficult even on a first visit.

Although the shop is mainly for takeout, there were seats at the front where you could sit and eat briefly. It also looked suitable for a quick lunch.

How were the original, dried squid, and tuna yubu gimbap?

I ordered the original yubu gimbap, dried squid yubu gimbap, and tuna yubu gimbap. I chose three kinds so my child and I could share them.

The fried tofu gave the gimbap a nutty flavor, and there was plenty of filling. I especially liked how much burdock it contained. It had a nice bite and went well with the fried tofu. Before picking up my child, I tasted each one and transferred them into a container so they would be easier to eat.

The original yubu gimbap was a simple option that was easy to give my child.

The dried squid yubu gimbap was enjoyable with a little more savory depth.

The tuna yubu gimbap combined the familiar taste of tuna gimbap with fried tofu, making it nutty and savory. Eating the three varieties in turn made them a good way to have a meal in the car.

What else can you get with the gimbap?

I could take a packet of miso soup to mix with about 100–150 ml of warm water. I liked this small extra, which went well with the gimbap.

The shop also sold cup noodles. This time I packed three rolls of gimbap, and the simple ordering and packing process made it easy to quickly prepare food to eat while traveling with my child. On my next visit, I would like to try some of the other yubu gimbap options.
