Seoul restaurant near Isu Station: two ₩19,500 sets, Hurato Sikdang
In short
Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch is a gyukatsu (Japanese beef cutlet) restaurant on the 2nd floor of the GS25 building at Exit 9 of Isu Station in Dongjak, Seoul. On a Sunday evening visit, one gyukatsu and one steki set, each ₩19,500, were ordered and shared, with each piece grilled on a personal tabletop grill so the beef stayed hot to the last bite. If only one dish could be ordered at Hurato Sikdang, it would be the fan-blade cut gyukatsu.

Hi~ it's Ddangi! Today I went to Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch near Isu Station haha
Where is Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch, and what are its hours?
Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch is at 6 Sadang-ro 28-gil, Dongjak-gu, Seoul, on the 2nd floor of the GS25 building a short walk from Isu Station Exit 9. It's open daily 11:30–22:00, last order 21:00, with a weekday break time of 15:00–17:00 and no break time on weekends.

Since it's on the 2nd floor of the GS25 building, it wasn't hard to find at all. It's also within walking distance from Sadang Station, so it's a solid pick if you have plans around Isu or Sadang. If you're into gyukatsu or Japanese food in general, this is worth keeping in mind when looking for a Japanese restaurant near Sadang!

Is there a wait on a Sunday evening at Hurato Sikdang?
I visited on a Sunday evening and got seated right away with no wait! But there's a Catch Table kiosk at the entrance, so it seems there can be a wait depending on the time. If you're going during lunch or dinner peak hours, might be worth checking Catch Table before heading over!

Inside the restaurant: seating and dining with kids
Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch is clean and bigger than I expected! The staff were friendly too.

The tables have decent spacing, and there are baby chairs and blankets ready, so it seems like a good spot to bring kids or the whole family.

Apparently Hurato Sikdang started as a small idea from a trip to Tokyo, Japan, and became a Japanese restaurant aiming to bring that taste and atmosphere to Korea. It started at the Gyeongbokgung location and now has several branches.
Hurato Sikdang menu and what was ordered

Here's the menu! I ordered gyukatsu ₩19,500, steki set ₩19,500, ramune, and a draft beer!! I was curious about both gyukatsu and steki, so I got one of each and shared haha

The beer and ramune arrived haha! The draft was Kirin, and yep — smooth as always. Having a cold draft beer alongside the meat was such a good match lol

Gyukatsu, ₩19,500: how does the fan-blade cut taste?
First up, the Hurato Sikdang gyukatsu!! At ₩19,500 I thought it was a bit pricey at first. But one bite and I got it right away — they said it's the fan-blade (chuck flap) cut, and the meat really melts in your mouth...!!!!!!
The outside has a thin layer of breading, while the meat inside is moist and super tender. What I especially liked is that instead of cooking it all at once, you grill one piece at a time on your own tabletop grill as you eat, so it stays warm to the very last bite! There's clearly a reason this place is known for gyukatsu.

Steki set vs gyukatsu: what is the difference?
And this is the steki set! It comes out yakiniku-style, seared rare on the outside. This one was also really moist and delicious!! It's a different vibe from the gyukatsu, so if you're going with two people, I'd recommend ordering one of each and sharing.

Still, if you made me pick just one to eat again, it's the gyukatsu!! It was so, so good.
Three sauces and free refills of rice, soup and sides
The sauces that come with it are salt, chili sauce, and soy sauce — three kinds! I tried all of them, and personally I liked dipping in the soy sauce best. Sauce, rice, soup, side dishes and so on can all be refilled on request!!

How to grill the beef on the personal tabletop grill
You just place the meat on your own tabletop grill and cook it as much as you like! They told us to grill about 30 seconds on each side, and once the meat gets a light brown color, it's ready to eat.

Ooh, it grills up so nicely haha
I lightly seared just the outside and ate it right away — no toughness at all, totally tender. If you're looking for gyukatsu near Isu Station, I think Hurato Sikdang is worth a visit!
Final verdict on Hurato Sikdang Isu Branch
- Spacious restaurant with baby chairs and blankets ready — good for lunch or a family meal!!
- Genuinely tender meat, and it's fun grilling it yourself on the personal grill haha
- Gyukatsu and steki are priced the same, so if you're two people, ordering one of each to share is a nice way to go!
