A Konkuk bakery café with buttery croissants and rich, nutty coffee that were just perfect, 🥐 Stack Bakery ☕️

Today my husband and I had ramen for lunch, and on the way home we didn't want to just go back, so we dropped by a bakery café nearby. We both love bread, and while searching we found Stack Bakery🥐 If you're looking for a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park, a bakery café in Konkuk, or a bakery in Jayang-dong, I think you'll like it, so let me introduce it.

Where is Stack Bakery, and what are the hours and parking?
Stack Bakery is at 552-3 Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (5 Ttukseom-ro 31-gil). It's open 8:00–21:00 and closed every Wednesday. There's no parking lot at the shop, so you need to use a public lot nearby.
We drove and parked at the Jayang 4-dong Traditional Market public parking lot. It costs ₩200 per 5 minutes, and it's a 10-minute walk to Stack Bakery.
What kind of bakery is Stack Bakery?
Stack Bakery is a Konkuk bakery café built around croissants and French-style pastries made in the shop. They say every step, from dough to baking, is done carefully from early each morning.

If you're looking for a bakery in Jayang-dong, Stack Bakery has a really wide variety of breads, so choosing was half the fun!
Do the coffee and drinks go well with the bread?
Stack Bakery says it uses beans blended by a roaster with 15 years of experience, made to pair best with pastries. When I actually drank it, it was nutty yet clean, and it really did go well with the bread.

Drink options and croissant sandwiches
The drinks go beyond coffee, with non-coffee drinks, ades and teas as well. Just as you'd expect from a Konkuk bakery café, the bread and drink combinations were really good.

Stack Bakery also sells sandwiches made with croissants. They take about 10–15 minutes to make after you order, and if you only want takeout, you can call the shop ahead and pick it up right away. It's a nice spot for a simple brunch too, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park.
What pastries does Stack Bakery have?
Stack Bakery sells freshly baked pastries, from a plain croissant with real butter flavor to a kaya croissant with kaya jam (coconut egg jam) and Gourmet butter, plus kouign-amann and pain au chocolat. There were so many breads that I had a happy dilemma!

The moment we walked in, all the different croissants caught my eye. I naturally picked up the famous plain croissant, and my husband, who loves chocolate, ordered the chocolate flan, which happened to be a new item.

Then, since one wasn't enough, we added salt bread and a kaya croissant. The pastry selection is so varied that it's no wonder people call it a top bakery in Jayang-dong.
Stack Bakery box packaging and receipt review perk
Stack Bakery packs your bread in a box for free if you buy 4 breads. Otherwise, if you want a box, it's just ₩2,000 extra.

Also, if you write a Naver receipt review, you get a free salty choco financier. I bought a lot of bread, so I skipped the freebie and just left a review.
What are the seating and atmosphere like at Stack Bakery?
Stack Bakery has two floors, with self-service bars on both the 1st and 2nd floors, and most of the tables are on the 2nd floor.

On the way up the stairs you can see the bakery kitchen, and thinking that this is where those delicious croissants are made made me look forward to them even more.

The stairs are a bit steep, though, so I'd recommend being careful on the way up.

With outdoor tables on the 1st floor and charming floor-to-ceiling-window seats on the 2nd, Stack Bakery is good for spending relaxed time alone, and also for visiting with a partner or family. After ordering, we went up to the 2nd floor and found a seat, and the sunlight pouring through the windows made the mood really lovely.

It was a weekday, but there were so many customers. Even while I was ordering on the 1st floor, takeout customers kept coming in, so word has clearly already spread. No wonder it's famous as a Konkuk bakery café.
What we ordered at Stack Bakery and how it tasted
Decaf homemade vanilla latte and strawberry latte
For drinks, we ordered a decaf homemade vanilla latte and a strawberry latte. I'm pregnant, so I chose decaf instead of regular coffee, and it was an excellent choice.

The nutty, sweet coffee went really well with the bread, and I thought that once Maru (our baby's nickname) is born, I'd like to come back now and then for a coffee. It was a perfect combination to stop by while looking for a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park.

For bread we ordered 4 in total: a plain croissant, kaya croissant, salt bread and chocolate flan. The pastries all looked so good that I kept picking things up and the tray filled up in no time!

Salt bread made with Maldon salt
The first thing we ate was the salt bread. It was crisp outside, with butter melting moist inside, plain yet really flavorful. Since they use Maldon salt rather than ordinary salt, the salty savoriness came through even more, and if you eat in, they warm it once more in the oven, so it was even more enjoyable.

Kaya croissant with kaya jam and Gourmet butter
Next was the kaya croissant, loaded with kaya jam and Gourmet butter, a perfect sugar recharge. Thanks to the smooth, rich flavor of Gourmet butter, it was sweet without being overwhelming, and the croissant itself is so good that I enjoyed it to the very end. It really lives up to the name of a top bakery in Jayang-dong.

Reheating the leftover bread in an air fryer
I got full while eating, so I took the leftover bread home, and warming it briefly in the air fryer made it taste as if freshly baked! It was such a satisfying bakery café that I want to go back and try the other pastries next time.
Delicious croissants, French-style pastries and fragrant coffee, I was happy with all of it at Stack Bakery. I'd confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a café near Ttukseom Hangang Park, a bakery café in Konkuk, or a bakery in Jayang-dong🤍
