Euljiro Italian date, fresh truffle shaved tableside: Schedule Osteria
In short
Schedule Osteria is a fresh-pasta Italian restaurant on the 2nd floor of iM Finance Center near Exit 5 of Jonggak Station in Euljiro, Seoul. On a dinner date with a friend, the writer ordered truffle cheese wheel tagliatelle, spicy shrimp bisque risotto, octopus confit potatoes and French onion soup, and the highlight was watching the fresh pasta tossed in a cheese wheel at the table before fresh truffle was shaved over it. If you love truffle, Schedule Osteria's truffle dishes are well worth ordering.

Back in Euljiro, near my old office... I found a brunch spot that's perfect for a date. Its name is Schedule Osteria!

Naver Map told me to get off at Jonggak Station and the way felt familiar, because it was literally right next to my old office hahahaha So... nice... to see it again...

Why was I searching for a Euljiro date restaurant? Because I had to take my princess out on a date after a long time hahaha She wanted fresh pasta again.. (I was in Seoul anyway, so Dondong and I did a Euljiro date)
How do you get to Schedule Osteria from Jonggak Station?
Schedule Osteria is on the 2nd floor of the building (iM Finance Center) you reach by walking straight for just 3 minutes from Exit 5 of Jonggak Station. Take the small outdoor escalator up and you're right at Schedule Osteria! It was the very same Exit 5 of Jonggak Station that I used to walk through every day on my way to work.

You can spot it right as you come up like this. It's in Catchtable's top 100 reservations?! A place this good was next to my office and I never knew, what a waste of a job.

"Babe, look at this, it must be a really famous place" says my friend hahaha so cute...

What are the interior and seating like at Schedule Osteria?
Unlike its bold red entrance, the inside of Schedule Osteria was really calm! There are bar seats, window seats, and a cozy round seating area inside for several people, and since it's right by Euljiro and City Hall, I thought it would be great for office gatherings too.

The window side looks out on the big road toward Cheonggyecheon through floor-to-ceiling glass, so the light must be great in the morning and at midday. I guess that's why it's best known as a Euljiro brunch spot.

Bread with truffle butter to start
The bread at Schedule Osteria came with truffle butter instead of the usual balsamic and olive oil. This butter was... so much better than I expected that I decided we had to order at least one truffle dish.

Every table has a mood lamp and little decorations like this, so it was nice for a soft, quiet chat.
What we ordered at Schedule Osteria
The menu at Schedule Osteria is so varied, from appetizers to mains, pasta and risotto. Just take a look at the menu first. I wanted everything, so ordering took a hundred years.

In the end we ordered the dishes that tempted us most like this.... and just as we were about to wrap up, my friend said, "I wanna have French onion soup."
- Truffle cheese wheel tagliatelle
- Spicy shrimp bisque risotto
- Octopus confit potatoes
- French onion soup (added order)
I really hate onions, but my girl wants it, so we eat it. French onion soup added to the order! hahahaha
French onion soup, tried by someone who dislikes onions
The French onion soup came out right after we ordered ..^^ haha I think most people other than me would love it. I skipped the onions at the bottom and tried just the soup part and the cheese on top, and oh! It was better than I expected. It had a really deep savory flavor and above all the cheese was really good. I couldn't work up the courage to eat the onions underneath hahahaha

Spicy shrimp bisque risotto
The spicy shrimp bisque risotto was spicy, and the grains weren't just regular rice but real risotto rice, so the chew was so good. There were even 4 shrimp in it. Hehe this is what I like.

How is the truffle cheese wheel tagliatelle served tableside?
For the truffle cheese wheel tagliatelle at Schedule Osteria, they bring a huge whole cheese wheel to the table, toss the fresh pasta inside it, plate it, and then grate fresh truffle right on top. I never imagined it would come out like this, so Dondong and I were totally baffled. W-what are they bringing? Is that ours? I think so... They're carrying a whole cheese?!

The bafflement soon turned into awe. They scraped cheese from the giant wheel and cooked the fresh pasta right there in it. A surprise fire show! So fun hehe

Then they toss (?) the pasta flamboyantly like this and move it onto a plate... My heart is racing, it looks so delicious. And that's not all, they grate fresh truffle right on top before leaving. ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ This truffle fan is crying.
Can you see how rich and thick it is? A thick truffle cream pasta melted from a real cheese wheel, not fake cheese or cheap butter, plus fresh truffle. It was so good I teared up.

Octopus confit potatoes: tender enough for weak teeth
Next up, the octopus confit potatoes! It felt like polpo, but the sauce was unique. I tried my best to show the quality of the octopus, how is it, can you feel it? Normally I can't eat octopus, squid and the like because my teeth hurt, but the octopus confit potatoes at Schedule Osteria were really tender. And that sauce.. they explained what it was, but it was a little salty and tangy with a savory depth, so I kept going endlessly.

Is Schedule Osteria good for a dinner date, not just brunch?
Schedule Osteria is famous as a Euljiro brunch spot, but my friend's and my conclusion is that it's great for a dinner date too. We ate until we were stuffed..... My friend said she found a great place, and that even without brunch, coming here for a dinner date would be great. I agree.

They even have gift cards, so this must be a seriously famous place. Office workers around Jonggak, City Hall and Euljiro, take note. I wish I had known earlier.
A walk along Cheonggyecheon Stream after dinner
We were so full that Dondong and I took a walk along Cheonggyecheon, and found a busker with such a sweet voice that we stood and listened for a long time. A truly romantic night date by Cheonggyecheon, mission accomplished.
And what I was left with: five mini yakgwa (honey cookies). Out of nowhere Dondong said she'd bought Handaraii today and shared some with me. So ridiculous and cute. Anyway, it was a happy Euljiro date hehe. If you go to Schedule Osteria, please, please, please try the truffle dish..
