Euljiro snack bar with no break time: dine-in combo at Hyeonseoni-ne
In short
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is an old-school snack bar (bunsik) one minute on foot from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Ordered at the kiosk, the Hyeonseoni combo set costs 25,000 won and comes mild with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), assorted fritters, sundae (Korean blood sausage) with organ meat, fish cake and mini gimbap, and since Hyeonseoni-ne has no break time you can sit down and eat at any hour. Hi everyone〰️ it's Eunyu, your restaurant-hopping blogger 👋 Yesterday I was in Euljiro trying to figure out what to eat, and suddenly I got a craving for bunsik (Korean street snacks) 😋 Today I'm introducing a place with old-school charm oozing out of every corner, said to be one of Seoul's top three tteokbokki spots — "Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch" — let's go!!
Where is Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch, and when is it open?
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch is on the 1st floor of 112 Namdaemun-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul (next to Mega Coffee), 68m from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station. Hours are Mon–Fri 10:40–21:00, closed Saturdays and Sundays.

This Seoul top-three tteokbokki spot is really easy to get to — just a one-minute walk from Exit 3 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, so I found it in no time!!

The cute Hyeonseoni character sitting by Cheonggyecheon eating tteokbokki caught my eye from far away 👀

Kiosk ordering: the Hyeonseoni combo set for 25,000 won
Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch orders and pays via kiosk, and I picked the Hyeonseoni combo set (₩25,000) in mild spice. From full sets to single-dish instant tteokbokki, the menu was packed and gave me plenty of choice ☺️ I went with the combo set since it lets you enjoy a bit of everything ☺️
✅️ Today's order ✅️ Hyeonseoni combo set (₩25,000)

Old-school room at Hyeonseoni-ne and eating alone
Inside, Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch has that distinctive Euljiro old-school (nopo) charm, which made for an interesting atmosphere. It was also great that there's no break time so you can eat anytime, and I saw plenty of solo diners too.

Probably because it's famous as one of the go-to tteokbokki spots in Euljiro, delivery orders kept pouring in nonstop

What's on the self-serve bar
Plenty of disposable aprons hanging up too
The self-serve bar has spoons, chopsticks, bowls, paper cups, and pickled radish.
There's a water dispenser so you can help yourself to water :)

They were also running an event where you get one free menu item for writing a review haha

What comes in the Hyeonseoni combo set?
Ta-da ✨️ the Hyeonseoni combo set arrives on a retro green plate!!
Tteokbokki, fritters, sundae, fish cake, mini gimbap — such a solid lineup 🥰 Bunsik party time, let's go‼️

Mild tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)
The tteokbokki has a saucy, broth-forward style ❤️ the portion is generous too, and just looking at it made my mouth water.
I ordered mild, and even a spice wimp like me could handle it just fine. The spicy-sweet tteokbokki sauce soaked into the rice cakes really well, so it was totally delicious ❣️ The chewy wheat rice cakes had great texture, and the fish cake was tasty too

Mini gimbap (bite-size seaweed rice rolls)
The mini gimbap (seaweed rice roll) with a sprinkle of sesame seeds looked so appetizing, yum 🤤

The mini gimbap is bite-sized and easy to eat, and even with simple ingredients it was surprisingly delicious. Just a solidly executed classic 😋

Sundae (blood sausage) served with organ meat
The sundae (Korean blood sausage) came with organ meat on the side too

The plump, chewy sundae dipped in salty salt brought out even more savory depth — so good 😋

I'm an organ-meat fanatic and personally love sundae liver, and this had no off smell at all — the more you chew, the more savory and clean it tastes, really excellent

The assorted fritters plate
The assorted fritters looked nicely golden-fried, and I got to try a good variety — rolled seaweed noodle fritter, vegetable fritter, sweet potato, yaki-mandu, and squid fritter — very satisfying 🤩

The fritters had a crunch that goes beyond just crispy — properly crackling 🧡💛

Fish cake and its broth
The plump fish cake soaked up so much broth, and it paired really well eaten together with the tteokbokki 🍢
The hot, salty broth felt like it was warming me up from the inside. I kept scooping spoonfuls~
In between I cleansed my palate with the crunchy pickled radish

The squid fritter was crispy and delicious too 🦑💛

Dip the rolled seaweed noodle fritter deep into the tteokbokki broth and one bite gives you spicy, crispy, and savory all in perfect balance ❤️

Spotted a little heart shape on the mini gimbap ,,you know what it is🫶🤍

Ending the meal with a walk along Cheonggyecheon
Hyeonseoni-ne is close to Cheonggyecheon, so it was perfect for a stroll in the cool autumn weather 🚶♀️
If you're looking for one of Seoul's top three tteokbokki spots near Euljiro with a heap of old-school charm, I highly recommend visiting "Hyeonseoni-ne Cheonggye Instant Branch" 👍 I'd go back 💯
