Sangam DMC izakaya for solo oden, yakisoba and juicy melon: Hanamato
In short
Hanamato Sangam DMC (하나마토 상암DMC) is a Japanese-style izakaya on Worldcupbuk-ro 44-gil near Digital Media City Station in Mapo, Seoul. After work, the writer went alone for 5 kinds of oden (Japanese fish cake), yakisoba, charcoal-grilled skewers and 2 Sapporo draft beers, and the melon ordered last turned out unexpectedly juicy. Closed every Sunday and open until 3am, Hanamato Sangam DMC works well as a second or third stop of the night.

A place to go for skewers and fish cake
I was looking for somewhere to grab a drink after work in Sangam and found an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) that feels like you've landed in Japan. I fell for the atmosphere the second I walked in, and the beer just kept going down, haha. (Smelling the charcoal smoke with a glass of Sapporo draft, that's real healing, isn't it? 😭💖) Today's footprint is Hanamato Sangam, near Digital Media City Station 🐳
What to know before visiting Hanamato Sangam DMC
Hanamato Sangam DMC is closed every Sunday and open until 3am. The fish cake (oden) selection is huge, and the charcoal-grilled skewers are the signature.

- ✅ Closed every Sunday! Please double-check before you go 🙏
- ✅ Open until 3am! You can come late at night without worrying. Perfect for a second or third round ✅
- ✅ The variety of fish cake is huge! If you love fish cake, this is heaven 💖

Location and how to get there
Hanamato Sangam DMC is an izakaya on the ground and 2nd floors at 16 Wolgeukbuk-ro 44-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It's a walk from Digital Media City Station, which is served by the AREX airport line and Line 6.

🚇 By subway, head toward Digital Media City Station on the AREX or Line 6. Searching "하나마토 상암" on Naver Map before you go will get you the exact spot ✅
What was the atmosphere like?

The moment you step into Hanamato, the Japanese izakaya vibe is the real deal. Saying it feels like being in Japan is no exaggeration: from the interior to the menu, the izakaya mood is fully there. It's a perfect spot for a drink with coworkers after work in Sangam DMC.
Menu and prices

Here's what I ordered!

With the good mood, tasty snacks and well-poured beer, you lose track of time once you sit down. (I have no idea how my two beers disappeared, haha 😆💖) The smell of grilling charcoal skewers fills the whole place, and taking a sip of beer in that smell is the essence of an izakaya ✅

My pick is the 5 kinds of oden plus Sapporo draft! It had been a while since I'd had a beer, and it was so smooth and the best... Sapporo draft, of course ❤️❤️

Yakisoba
🍜 The yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) is really nutty and delicious. The sauce coats the noodles well and it's generous with ingredients, so it works as a drinking snack and is filling enough as a meal too. Perfect for filling your stomach while you drink beer 💖

5 kinds of oden and oden broth
🍢 The variety of oden here is amazing. From plain fish cake sticks to all sorts of shapes, I picked five kinds, and each has a different texture, which makes eating them fun. The fish cake is soft and soaked deep in the broth, so it stays moist with a rich savory flavor. (This place reminded me how good fish cake can be 😭💖)

You can drink the oden broth too, and it's really good as well. With fish cake sitting in that deeply savory broth, you end up taking a sip with every skewer ✅

You absolutely have to get the oden!!! I loved it so much!!! Super soft, haha

Charcoal-grilled skewers
The charcoal aroma is the real deal. It feels on a different level from ordinary skewers. The smoky flavor from the charcoal really soaks into the skewers, and the combo of one bite and then a sip of beer is perfect.

Sapporo draft beer
I had two glasses of Sapporo draft, and it suits the izakaya mood so well. Cold, smooth Sapporo draft meeting the charcoal skewers and oden makes a triple combo that really feels like a Japanese izakaya 💖

Melon
This one was a real surprise. They sell melon at an izakaya, so I just ordered it, and the sweetness was far beyond what I expected. (It was so juicy that I squealed after one bite 😭)

Wrapping up
Hanamato Sangam DMC satisfies on all three counts: atmosphere, quality of snacks and beer. The big plus is being able to enjoy a Japan-like izakaya mood in Sangam. It's open until 3am, so you can come late without worrying. I'll definitely go again whenever I'm in Digital Media City 😆💖
