I visited Your Anmok (당신의안목), an accommodation with a wide-open ocean view right in front of Anmok Beach in Gangneung. Before summer ended, I wanted to rest while looking at the sea, so I took a trip to Gangneung. Your Anmok was already so well known on social media for its view that I had really wanted to visit.

A location close to Anmok Café Street

It is directly in front of Anmok Beach Café Street in Gangneung, so it was easy to find. There are lots of pretty cafés nearby too, which made getting around excellent.

The moment I entered the room, the expansive ocean view unfolded before me and I could not help but gasp. It is on the pricier side compared with nearby hotels, but this view alone made the price feel completely understandable. The clean, airy interior made me feel like I was healing the instant I walked in.

Everything was superbly prepared, from the table, chairs, and spa to the microwave and refrigerator. Another thing I loved was how generously stocked the towels were, haha.

At night, I ordered delivery sashimi and spent time looking at the night sea. When people set off fireworks over the quiet sea at night, you do not need a separate fireworks festival, haha.

The accommodation was well equipped with pretty tableware, including soju glasses and wine glasses, which was perfect for setting the mood. I recommend it to anyone who wants to zone out watching the sea, or is planning a solo trip, a friends’ trip, or a couples’ trip.

Full-height ocean views and a window-side spa

Your Anmok, an ocean-view stay in Gangneung, lets you enjoy both an unobstructed, wide-open sea view through full-height windows and an in-room spa. Both the Anmok and Jumunjin branches sit right in front of the sea, making travel routes efficient and rest comfortable.

Three things I looked for in an ocean-view pension

For a proper rest, you need an open view without feeling boxed in, efficient routes for getting around, and indoor facilities that can ease your fatigue. The Your Anmok I visited perfectly met all three conditions, resulting in a very satisfying stay.

An expansive ocean view through full-height windows

The large full-height windows leave your view unobstructed by buildings or roads, so you can fully take in the refreshing scenery of the East Sea even from inside the room. You can comfortably enjoy the blue sea by day, the sunset at dusk, and beach night views and fireworks at night from the room, so even the time spent staying here becomes restful.

The window-side spa and water pressure

The spa tub set directly by the window is the heart of this accommodation: it is wonderful for soaking in warm water, looking at the sea, and washing away the fatigue of travel. The water pressure is strong and hot water is supplied steadily, so filling it takes only around 10 minutes.

Convenient for parking and takeaway food

The Anmok branch is directly in front of Anmok Beach and Café Street, putting key spots within walking distance; the Jumunjin branch is likewise right by the beach and easy to reach. There is a convenience store and ample parking near the accommodation, while the kitchen has wine glasses, mugs, tableware, and a microwave, making it ideal for enjoying takeaway food.
