Last weekend, our family went to Jamsil Baseball Stadium! But you know, one thing that quietly becomes a dilemma on baseball days is food. Buying something inside the stadium is nice too, but it is not cheap, and packing the family’s favorite dishes ahead of time makes it much easier to eat while watching the game.

This time, we stopped by Amsa Market on the way to Jamsil Baseball Stadium and packed dakgangjeong (sweet glazed fried chicken) and chicken drumsticks from Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch.

Dakgangjeong and drumsticks for ₩18,000 total

We bought a medium mild dakgangjeong for ₩9,000 and six chicken drumsticks for ₩9,000. Ordering one whole chicken can feel really pricey these days, so I loved that both items together still came to just ₩18,000.

Most of all, after trying them, I found that this was not just a place with kind prices—the taste was satisfying too.

Gimssi Chicken says it reduces complicated distribution steps and sells with minimal margins to lower the price burden. So when I first saw the prices, I wondered, “Will it really be okay at this price?” But after eating, I changed my mind.

We chose the mild dakgangjeong, and since it was not spicy, it was great to eat with our child. The sauce was not overpowering, and dakgangjeong’s signature sweetness came together so nicely that I kept reaching for it. And the chewy rice cakes inside were so delicious!

Above all, we did not eat it right after picking it up—we took it all the way to Jamsil Baseball Stadium. It had cooled a little by then, but it was still tasty, which made me even happier. It was easy to pick up piece by piece while watching baseball, and the portion was just right.

And the item that got the best reaction in our house was the chicken drumsticks.

My daughter already loves drumsticks, so when we order chicken, we often choose a combo rather than a regular whole chicken. But Gimssi Chicken sells drumsticks gathered together as their own menu item.

My drumstick-loving daughter was thrilled as soon as she saw the menu. We bought six, and she ate an amazing four all by herself, haha.

She kept saying how delicious they were while eating and said we absolutely had to buy them here again next time. When a child eats this well, I think the next visit is decided immediately from a parent’s point of view.

We prepared a generous spread of dakgangjeong and drumsticks for ₩18,000 and enjoyed it at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, so this menu choice was a real success that day. It was easy to carry while traveling, and it worked well as something simple to bring before the game started.

If you want to enjoy tasty chicken and dakgangjeong with less of a price burden, I think Gimssi Chicken is worth stopping by.

Saving the old-fashioned whole chicken for next time

Plus, their old-fashioned whole chicken was ₩7,000 for one whole bird!!! It looked seriously delicious, and I wanted to buy that too…. But my husband said it would be hard to tear apart and eat at the baseball stadium, so I could only admire it with my eyes.

We promised our daughter, so we are planning to pack some again the next time we go to a baseball game. Ah, it is really crowded. With prices this good and food this tasty, I guess that is only natural >.<
