A spacious, lively Korean BBQ restaurant in Baegot
When I stepped into Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch on the first floor of Dain Royal Palace 4 in Baegot’s central shopping district, the spacious interior—with room for 70 to 80 people—and its high, open ceiling immediately felt airy rather than cramped. Maybe because it was a weekend evening, it was nearly full to the point that there was barely room to step! From friend groups and families to couples, people of every age were enjoying the lively atmosphere, and I could instantly see why it is a true Siheung food spot ^^

The tables are nicely spaced too, so even with the restaurant full, dining was not uncomfortable. The staff’s quick responses and kindness really stood out despite how busy they were. One little tip: on nice days, they open the folding doors wide, but it can get quite hot in front of the grill, so if you run warm, I recommend coming in cool, light clothes ^^
How is the special pork neck grilled?

Once seated, I easily ordered the Pork Belly Fondue Kimchi Stew Set and one serving of special pork neck through the kiosk at the table. The basic spread was simple, with myeonginamul (pickled wild garlic leaves) and ssam vegetables, plus five house-made sauces to boost the savory flavor. The punchy yet sweet garlic sauce was especially appealing ^^

The kimchi rice noodles they served as a pre-meal taster were also perfect for cleansing the palate, with a broth full of savory flavor.

A little later, thick cuts of pork that had been initially seared over 500-degree charcoal arrived! Ssosam 208’s greatest strength is that skilled staff set the grill temperature to 208 degrees and expertly cook everything for you themselves.
Because the meat was so thick, it took about 10 minutes to cook. But the instant I took a bite of the finished special pork neck, my eyes went wide! Of all the pork neck I have ever eaten, this was the most tender and springy, with juices bursting out. It was genuinely top-quality meat worthy of the name “special pork neck.”

The pork belly was equally dense and substantial, with an incredible chew and a perfect match in the garlic sauce. Definitely a Siheung Korean BBQ spot worth noting ^^

The minari and pork belly fondue kimchi stew combination
Once the meat is partly cooked, the staff bring over a generous pile of fresh minari (water parsley) and sizzle it on the grill seasoned with the pork fat. The fragrant minari completely cuts through the richness of the meat, so I just could not put my chopsticks down. Pile up sesame-oil-fried bean sprouts, grilled kimchi, and myeonginamul in a ssam wrap, and it feels as if the day’s fatigue simply melts away ^^
The Pork Belly Fondue Kimchi Stew arrived when we were nearly finished with the grilled meat. Cooked until tender in a pressure cooker, the pork melted gently in my mouth. They use good meat, so there was not even a hint of gaminess, and the broth was deeply rich and concentrated!

What was especially fascinating was the squid-ink bread spread with cream cheese on top of the kimchi stew. When I thoroughly dipped the bread into the broth, an amazing fusion flavor emerged, as though Korean and Western food had met. It is tasty on its own too, but I strongly recommend dipping it in the broth—absolutely do it ^^
Why it makes a great date stop after shopping

Along with the excellent food, Ssosam 208 Siheung Baegot Branch has plenty of events too. If you do both a Naver receipt review and the Instagram event, you can receive a cash discount or an alcohol upgrade, so be sure to take advantage of them ^^

Since I could eat meat comfortably while feeling looked after from beginning to end, this is an essential stop for a Siheung Premium Outlets date or for coming with your partner after a walk at Baegot Life Park. From under-seat storage that helps ease worries about smelling like grilled meat to the kind service, it was a thoroughly satisfying weekend dinner!
Parking support tip
You can park free for up to 2 hours 30 minutes on the B1 level of the Dain Royal Palace 4 building where the restaurant is located. Parking spaces can be somewhat limited, though, so I recommend using a nearby public parking lot during peak hours! Just let the counter know, and they will generously support ₩2,000 of the parking fee ^^
The comfort of having everything grilled from start to finish! An ensemble of intensely juicy special pork neck and fusion kimchi stew!
