12-dish table served in minutes at a Bucheon Korean restaurant

In short

Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant in a standalone building on Gilju-ro 560beon-gil, near Gachiul Station in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. The Tteuranchae Bapsang set meal costs 13,000 won, and adding grilled mackerel made it a 12-dish table that was fully laid out only moments after ordering. Seasoned vegetable banchan sits on a self-serve bar kept warm over a burner, so refills are easy — a comfortable choice for a family meal.

Inside the restaurant and the mood

Exterior of the standalone building housing Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch

I was craving a tidy Korean set meal, so I visited Gim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Bucheon Main Branch near Gachiul. It's in its own standalone building, so it's easy to spot from a distance.

There's dedicated parking right in front of the restaurant, which made driving there easy. Tight parking can make you anxious before you even walk in, but this place was easy to park at, which I liked!!!

Self-serve side dish bar set up on one side of the restaurant

There's a self-serve bar set up on one side of the restaurant. It was great to be able to comfortably go back for more of the basic side dishes!

Namul side dishes kept warm on a burner at the self-serve bar

It was kept clean, and any side dish running low was refilled right away. I also liked that the namul (seasoned vegetable) dishes were kept warm on a burner.

What was ordered: Tteuranchae Bapsang set meal plus grilled mackerel

The ordered Tteuranchae Bapsang set meal and grilled mackerel spread

I tried the basic Korean set, the Tteuranchae Bapsang set meal, adding grilled mackerel on top. The set is a Korean-set-meal style menu that comes with cheonggukjang included as standard.

How fast does the 12-dish table arrive?

The 12-course spread laid out quickly on the table

Not long after ordering, a full 12-course spread was quickly laid out on the table!! The food seemed to come out about as fast as at a Chinese restaurant.

Plates of mildly seasoned basic side dishes

The side dishes were overall seasoned just right and not overpowering, giving off a tidy feel. Nothing too strong-flavored — the kind of food that's easy for anyone to enjoy without polarizing opinions.

A large serving of grilled mackerel

The grilled mackerel we ordered alongside came out in a big chunky size on the plate! It was well-seasoned already, so it was tasty even without dipping it in soy sauce or wasabi.

Cheonggukjang served in an earthenware pot

Cheonggukjang stew and pot rice

Even the cheonggukjang, served in a basic ttukbaegi (earthenware pot), was refillable, so we could eat as much as we wanted without feeling short-changed.

The savory cheonggukjang went great with the namul rice too. It's also nice to add a ladle of it when eating bibimbap! It came loaded with tofu, kimchi, radish, and other hearty fillings. There were plenty of soybeans settled at the bottom too.

Namul rice served alongside the cheonggukjang

The rice came as a standard individual pot rice, so I could enjoy nurungji-style scorched rice tea (sungnyung) all the way through! The rice portion was generous too, so I was full.

Seasoned dried radish greens and pickled pepper side dishes
A plate with kimchi and lettuce

The banchan lineup on the table

Fried eggplant salad, kimchi, braised burdock root, braised potatoes, pickled peppers, seasoned doraji (bellflower root), seasoned perilla leaves, seasoned dried radish greens, lettuce — such a variety of namul and side dishes came out that the table looked quite generous. I liked that many of these namul dishes are hard to make at home. ^^

Close-up of the thick-fleshed grilled mackerel

The mackerel had thick flesh, so there was a lot to pick off.

It had no fishy smell and the flesh was soft, so it was great to lay a piece on top of the rice bite by bite.

Is it worth a family meal near Gachiul Station?

Overall, the number of side dishes was solid, and it was convenient to be able to comfortably go back for more banchan and stew without feeling awkward about it. Parking is easy and the tables are spacious, so it seems like a good option to stop by near Gachiul Station for a family meal or a tidy Korean meal.

A meal that left me stuffed! Another delicious meal today. ♡ Yum yum
