First, the location is great. It's near Hannam Ogeori, easy to reach from Gangnam, north of the river or Yongsan, so even I, who have no sense of direction, found it in one go.

It's on the 3rd floor of the building at 70 Dokseodang-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and the inside of the building was very clean.

Driving to Hannam is usually a parking nightmare, but this building has a generous car park that holds as many as 250 cars. On top of that, they give you 3 hours of free parking, so if you come by car you can relax and not worry about it. It's rare to find parking this easy in Hannam, and I think it's a big plus.

First impressions of a 60-pyeong salon in Hannam

ONLY FOR YOU Hannam Main Branch is a spacious salon of about 60 pyeong (roughly 200 m²) with bright white interiors and a café-like waiting area. It's split into two spaces, a Hair Zone and a Design Zone.

The moment I opened the door, the wide, open, comfortable 60-pyeong interior caught my eye.

The whole place has a bright, stylish white-toned feel, and the waiting area is prettily done up like a café, so I felt relaxed the entire time I was there.

The salon is run as two spaces with different concepts, the “ONLY FOR YOU Hair Zone” and the “ONLY FOR YOU Design Zone”, which felt a lot more professional and organized. The desk manager and the staff all greeted me with bright smiles and were so kind that I was happy with the place from the very first impression.

How does the layered cut consultation work?

My designer at ONLY FOR YOU Hannam Main Branch checked not only my hair condition but also my head shape and how I style my hair at home before suggesting a layered cut. It was a one-on-one consultation that took both complementing my face shape and taking weight off into account.

I sat down and started the consultation with my designer. She carefully checked my hair condition and recommended the most suitable direction. She didn't just listen to the style I wanted and get on with it; she took my head shape and even my habits, like how I style and care for my hair at home, into careful account, which made me trust her even more.

I told her my worry: lately my hair felt too heavy and the thickness seemed clumped together. She suggested a layered cut that would complement my face shape while taking weight off, for a light, stylish look. The detailed consultation had a real professional feel, and I trusted her even before the cut began.

And one of the things that really impressed me this visit was the shampoo station!

They insist on premium products with clear strengths from each brand, such as L'Oréal, Milbon and Wella, and maybe that's why my scalp and hair felt no irritation at all and I was comfortable throughout.

While they did the shampoo and treatment, they also gave me a careful scalp massage as a free service. It felt cool and firm, and all the tiredness that had built up just melted away.
