Seongsu café at 7pm: sold-out showcase and Signature Noix, Notldun

Today I revisited Notldun, a French-style dessert boutique newly settled in the Seongsu/Seoul Forest alleys :)

It's tucked between alleys, but the exterior alone gives off the vibe of a small European atelier, so dessert lovers really should stop by.

Notldun's location, hours and parking

• Location: Seoulsup-gil area, Seongdong-gu, Seoul (5–7 min walk from Ttukseom Station Exit 8 or Seoul Forest Station Exit 5)
• Hours: 12:00–20:00 (last order 19:30, may vary by day)
• Parking: No in-store parking (nearby Seongdong-gu Community Sports Center public parking recommended)

Walking along the Seoul Forest atelier street, Notldun's sleek, calm-toned exterior catches your eye. Even the sign and entrance details carry that neat French dessert shop feel — great for photos too 💛

Stepping inside, calm wood tones blend with a modern mood. The lighting is comfortable, perfect for chatting.

They also had a good variety of coffee, tea, and ades ready!

Since it was evening we skipped coffee this time, but if you go during the day, be sure to try it! It's a must alongside dessert hahaha

Weekend evening showcase: only a few madeleines left

The first thing that catches your eye is definitely the dessert showcase at the center. It felt less like a plain bakery case and more like a neat jewelry showroom!

Last time I came on a weekday early afternoon, the showcase was full of delicious madeleines and cakes ㅠㅠ I guess it's a popular Seongsu dessert spot, because visiting late on a weekend, only a few madeleines were left 😭

Luckily they said the Signature Blanc and Noir were still available, so we ordered Notldun's Signature Noir! A little while later, more cakes came out again hahaha

Madeleines and financiers are also sold as selection sets in pretty packaging, so they'd make great gifts too 🤩👍

What the Signature Noix tastes like, layer by layer

This is Notldun's signature, the 'Noir,' which had a distinctly heavy presence in the showcase. True to its name, it's a mousse cake that captures deep, nutty richness and the warm mood of fall and winter.

The surface is finished with a thin, smooth glaçage and delicate garnish, almost too pretty to cut into. Slice it open and you'll find soft nut ganache/mousse cream, a rich and nutty praline insert, and a moist biscuit sheet, all layered without a gap 🤎🤎

On the first bite, the soft cream melts away the instant it touches your tongue, and right after, the deep nutty richness and heavy sweetness hit hard 🤤 truly a crowd-pleaser!

The madeleines were wrapped individually and prettily 🧡 Notldun's madeleines are plump from the start, with a nicely raised belly button bump in the center — a visual pass mark right away.

The moment you take a bite, a rich buttery aroma sweeps past your nose, making it obvious they didn't skimp on good butter 💛💛

What to know before visiting Notldun

• Watch for sold-out desserts: popular signature items often sell out if you visit late on weekend afternoons. Visiting between noon and 2pm is recommended if possible.
• Packaging: the dessert boxes and shopping bags are neat, so they're perfectly suited for takeout gifts or home parties.
• Waiting: seating is limited on weekends, so there may be a wait — time your visit well.
• Review event: participating in the review event gets you a free Valrhona dark chocolate latte!!
