Jeju photo studio: 2-shot couple snaps sent by KakaoTalk, Eoeum-ri

On this Jeju trip we did the restaurant tour, but I wanted to make a slightly more special memory too. Since we were in Jeju, I thought it would be nice to capture Jeju's beautiful scenery and mood in photos. Usually I just take pictures with my phone, but this time I decided, let's do a proper snap shoot! While searching, I found Eoeum-ri Photo Studio (어음리 사진관), whose backdrop looked so pretty that I really wanted to visit, and we did a couple snap shoot there.

Where is Eoeum-ri Photo Studio and what are its hours?

Eoeum-ri Photo Studio is at 14 Eoeum 10-gil, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si (Studio building), open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, and you can book through Naver. As the name says, it's in Eoeum-ri, Aewol, Jeju, and it's named after the village, Eoeum-ri! The village on the way to the studio was quiet and full of Jeju charm.

The studio is not an ordinary shop unit but a house, the kind you often see in Jeju, which made it feel even cozier.

In the middle of the yard there was also a jeep you can use for jeep snap shoots.

How much does a couple snap shoot in Aewol, Jeju cost?

At Eoeum-ri Photo Studio we went with the basic background snap, 2 cuts, for ₩50,000. The price changes depending on the background and the shoot setup, and our shoot was outdoors rather than inside the studio. Honestly, I assumed a snap shoot would be pretty expensive, so I was surprised that the price was so manageable.

Where were the 2 couple snaps taken?

The first snap was shot against the Jeju stone wall right in front of the studio,

and the second was at a bench about a 30-second walk from the studio. Being able to capture Jeju's natural scenery within such a short distance made us even happier with it.

How long does the outdoor snap shoot take?

The outdoor snap at Eoeum-ri Photo Studio took roughly 20 minutes, I think. We booked for 10 a.m., and as soon as we arrived on time, we got straight into shooting. I expected an outdoor snap to take a long time, but it wasn't that long. It ended right before our concentration ran out, so it wasn't tiring at all, which was actually great.

Best of all, the photographer fixed our awkward poses one by one and kept changing poses so the shoot felt natural. They created a relaxed atmosphere like ordinary conversation, so there was no pressure the whole time, and I think that's why the shoot finished even faster.

What is the self-photo room like while photos are retouched?

After the outdoor shoot at Eoeum-ri Photo Studio, we could use the self-photo space inside the studio while the photographer retouched (Bojeong) our photos.

The self-photo space had a variety of props with a Jeju feel. We had fun taking photos with sunglasses, hats and other props, and there was a selfie stick and a wireless remote, so we could shoot in whatever composition we wanted.

We spent the time taking silly photos with all kinds of props and staged shots too. After about 20 minutes of happily snapping, we took a short break, and before we knew it they told us the retouching was done. The retouching didn't take long, so we could use the waiting time well too.

At the front there were also a hair dryer and a curling iron.

How do you receive your Jeju couple snap photos?

After the shoot, Eoeum-ri Photo Studio printed our photos nicely and put them in an envelope, and also sent them to us via KakaoTalk.

The color in the photos we received was retouched really beautifully overall. It wasn't over-edited; it kept Jeju's warm atmosphere and a natural feel. We went to restaurants and lots of tourist spots on this trip, but what stays with you the longest is the photos. Getting couple snaps against Jeju's beautiful scenery became a special memory.
