Vietnamese eatery by Ewha Station: Hanoi pho and rice rolls, Kkua Ewha
In short
Kkua Ewha is a Vietnamese restaurant in Seodaemun, Seoul, on the second floor of a green building a 3-minute walk from Ewha Womans University Station Exit 3. The writer ordered Hanoi original pho (12,000 won), shrimp fried rice (12,000 won), shrimp rice rolls (7,000 won) and a pink lychee chamomile ade (5,500 won) on the table kiosk, and the food came out quickly. Hi, this is Jarim. Today I'm writing up my visit to Kkua, one of the Ewha restaurants famous for great pho! It's a place I'd recommend for a clean, satisfying meal whether you drop by for lunch or dinner~!

Kkua Ewha's location and hours
Kkua, an Ewha restaurant. Hours 11:00 - 20:30, last order 20:00. It's about a 3-minute walk from Ewha Station Exit 3. Walk straight down from the station and you'll easily spot the Kkua sign on a green building!

The vibe, the seats, and can you eat here alone?
The interior is pretty spacious. It's clean but also kind of cute, giving off a relaxed vacation-spot feel haha. There's a good variety of seating — solo bar tables great for eating alone, plus 2-person and 4-person tables. There were actually a lot of solo diners there too!

Ordering by kiosk and what I got
You order easily through the kiosk on the table. There's bun cha, pho, fried rice, morning glory (stir-fried water spinach), and set menus too.
- Hanoi original pho ₩12,000
- Shrimp fried rice ₩12,000
- Shrimp rice rolls ₩7,000
- Pink lychee chamomile ade ₩5,500
This is what I ordered. >.<

Pink lychee chamomile ade
A sweet, fragrant lychee-flavored pink chamomile ade. It was such a hot day, and one sip of this cold ade just cleared my head, haha, ㅠㅠ. Sweet yet refreshing, it went really well alongside the food.

The food comes out fast. I was starving so getting it quickly made me happy haha~~. Oh, and adding an egg yolk on top of the shrimp fried rice is an option you can choose when ordering! I added it so I could pop it and mix it in, haha.

Shrimp rice rolls, ₩7,000
The shrimp rice rolls arrived >.<. Crispy on the outside rice roll with a savory sauce and springy shrimp texture! I'd recommend it as a great side to pair with your meal.

Hanoi original pho, ₩12,000
Kkua's Hanoi original pho has a light, clean flavor I really liked. It's got chives and meat in it, and the broth is rich yet clean! I love noodle dishes, but lately my digestion hasn't been great ㅠ — pho is one I especially like because my stomach still feels comfortable after eating it.

The shrimp rice rolls, with their crispy-outside-chewy-inside texture and sauce combo, were great! Eating them as a side alongside the light, clean pho was really nice. The Hanoi original pho has such a light, clean flavor that it's kind of addictive. I kept scooping it up, haha.

Shrimp fried rice, ₩12,000
But a meal doesn't feel complete without rice, so I ordered the shrimp fried rice too, haha. Crunchy bean sprouts and springy shrimp give it good texture, and it's savory yet light — delicious as always haha. Pho — shrimp fried rice — shrimp rice rolls: the combination of these three menu items was really good. Nice, nice~~

The sauces, pickled onion, and final thoughts
The sauce containers were also kept very clean, which I appreciated haha. There are two sauces essential for pho — hoisin sauce and sriracha — set out at the table. Add some pickled onion on top of that, and alternating between the two sauces, a whole bowl disappears in no time....
Kkua, an Ewha restaurant. Light, clean flavors that leave your stomach feeling comfortable afterward make it a good choice for lunch or dinner, and being right near Ewha makes it easy to reach on foot. The place is run cleanly too, so it was a pleasant, comfortable place to eat. The staff are friendly as well, so if you're eating around here, I'd recommend giving it a visit~^^
