Seongsu burgers for two: Mega Bun combo & 6 hot wings, Bored & Hungry

When the weather is nice, I just keep wandering outside, haha. It was May and some days were already over 30°C, so I was thinking of winding down the outings, but then I heard there's a great burger place in Seongsu-dong and thought, well, then we have to go! That's how I ended up at Bored & Hungry Seongsu.

What are the entrance and vibe of Bored & Hungry Seongsu like?

Bored & Hungry Seongsu is decorated in bright, colorful tones starting from the entrance, so it stands out even before you walk in. The entrance alone is already something else. Colorful is totally my style! Is it just me, or does a color palette like this suddenly make your mood float up?

Heading straight in. (I walked far behind so it wouldn't look like I was following the foreigners who were going in, haha.)

Is there a wait at Bored & Hungry Seongsu?

As you'd expect from a famous Seongsu burger place, Bored & Hungry Seongsu has waiting lines. We went at a really in-between time, so we ate in total comfort, but I hear that on weekends or at the lunch peak there's definitely a wait, so I recommend checking the situation and booking ahead on Catch Table.

Is the restroom inside Bored & Hungry Seongsu?

I loved that the restroom at Bored & Hungry Seongsu is inside the restaurant. I'm one of those people who's scared of restrooms outside... Having one inside gives me such a sense of relief. I once ran into a creep in a restroom, so I take restrooms very seriously.

Hey, I've seen this poster before at a hotspot in my neighborhood! I was curious about it back then, and it turns out it's the Pepsi poster given to places that collaborate with Pepsi. Bored & Hungry Seongsu had this Pepsi at the self-serve drink station too.

Snoop Dogg and monkey art: the interior of Bored & Hungry Seongsu

The inside of Bored & Hungry Seongsu is packed with vivid colors, monkey drawings and Snoop Dogg's face. Heading inside~ I love vivid colors so much! My feet were skipping along, la la la~

Snoop Dogg's face is stuck up all over the place, and I wondered why. Apparently the place is also known as the burger Snoop Dogg fell for.

The outer wall was already something, and sure enough the inside has gorgeous artwork like this too. Within the flashy colors you can spot monkeys that look just like the name, Bored & Hungry.

Solo seats, baby chairs and merch

Bored & Hungry Seongsu has seats with wall outlets that are great for eating alone. Oh~ this seat would be perfect for a solo meal?! They even put an outlet right on the wall so you can charge, so thoughtful!

Bored & Hungry also sells merchandise. There are baby chairs too, so they can offer comfortable seating to people with kids.

Wait, why is that monkey aging so badly, lol. His face gets more and more worn out, lol.

The menu board looks like an electronic display board, so it feels a bit like being at an airport.

As a famous Seongsu burger place, Bored & Hungry Seongsu is really spacious, which I liked. Cozy little spots are nice too, but a big space makes me feel more relaxed, you know?! Since the restaurant is so big, I hear you can also rent the space.

How does the vanilla milkshake taste?

The vanilla shake at Bored & Hungry Seongsu was exactly the flavor the writer was after. While I was looking around the restaurant, the milkshake came out! Ahh, I love milkshakes so much, and it seems like a really simple recipe but apparently it isn't. I wanted a good vanilla shake, saw that Bored & Hungry Seongsu sold milkshakes and ordered one right away, and oh my!!! It's the flavor I wanted!!! If it had been easier to sip through the straw I would have chugged it in one go, lol. I slurped away as hard as I could, got full, and ended up taking the rest of the food home, lolololol.

Our Mega Bun, Chili's Mutant Cheese Sticks and hot wings arrived! If you're still deciding what to eat, I really like this combination and totally recommend it.

Ugh.. that monkey is so ugly but so funny that I keep staring at him, lol. It's not just me, right? lolololol

This guy is seriously bursting with charm, lol. Looking at the interior of Bored & Hungry, I learned that it started in California in 2022, and pairing this design with the name Bored & Hungry and making it big is honestly impressive.

How does The Mega Bun taste?

The Mega Bun at Bored & Hungry Seongsu has a rich flavor, with a proper patty that shouts "I'm meat!!!" Wow.. this Mega Bun is seriously crazy good. So delicious. It's a flavor that earns the title of signature menu. After eating it I just said "wow.."

I remember Haha and Kim Jong-kook eating it and calling it delicious on Running Man once, and I totally agree. After the hot summer, around autumn, I definitely want to come back and try the other burgers.

Hot wings (6 pieces) and the sauce

The hot wings at Bored & Hungry Seongsu are ₩8,400 for 6 pieces, and the sauce tasted like a mix of ketchup and gochujang (Korean chili paste), something different. I think there was a 10-piece option too? But there were two of us, so we went with 6! The first bite, the sauce tasted really different. I can't tell whether it really contains ketchup and gochujang, but that's how it tasted, so it was a new kind of wing flavor.

Limited-edition Chili's Mutant Cheese Sticks

The Chili's Mutant Cheese Sticks are a limited-edition item at Bored & Hungry Seongsu, ₩4,500. They're not as thick and hefty as in the menu photo, but that's part of the charm too.

You absolutely have to eat the Chili's Mutant Cheese Sticks with a fork. If you try it by hand, the cheese goes everywhere. I cut right in and the cheese came pouring out, whoosh~ so I snapped a photo right away! This was a really different flavor too, and I loved it. The burger, the cheese sticks and the wings were all new flavors, so I came away thinking there's a reason these Seongsu-dong hotspots are famous!

Is Bored & Hungry Seongsu good for a date?

At Bored & Hungry Seongsu you return your own tray when you're done, and it looked like a really good spot for an offbeat date. It felt like one of the trendiest brands in Korea, and I once got invited to a US military base. It's not because everyone except us was a foreigner, but it suddenly reminded me of the base and took me back to old memories. The staff were also very friendly, which I loved. Parking and wheelchair access at Bored & Hungry Seongsu

Bored & Hungry Seongsu has no dedicated parking lot, so I hear using a nearby paid lot is convenient. The entrance also has a sign saying wheelchairs are welcome and there's no threshold, so it's a restaurant people in wheelchairs can visit comfortably.
