This is my story of getting a medium-length volume magic and C-curl perm at Hair Geurimi Eungam Branch, a hair salon near Eungam Station in Eungam-dong.

Where is the entrance to Hair Geurimi Eungam Branch?

Hair Geurimi Eungam Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building at 103 Eunpyeong-ro. There is no way up from the Emart front-gate side; the entrance is on the opposite side. If you walk from Eungam Station Exit 3 toward the Emart back gate, it's the building right next door, so you won't get lost.

I'd been meaning to do something about my heavy hair before the heat got even worse, and I finally made it! The building is kind of shaped like an island, if that makes sense. Coming from the Emart front gate, I saw Gyeongseong Kkwabaegi (a twisted doughnut shop) and Hair Geurimi up on the 2nd floor. But there's no way up on this side, and the entrance is on the other side, so just a heads-up!

If you walk from Eungam Station Exit 3 toward the Emart back gate, it's right next door, so the location is super good! It takes about 5 minutes on foot. It's a great spot by the station, but depending on which side you come from, finding the entrance can be confusing, so I wrote it down~

Why I decided to cut my thick, damaged long hair to medium length

I'd just let my thick long hair grow, and it got heavy and the damaged ends turned frizzy. So I decided to cut off the damage and lighten things up at Hair Geurimi Eungam Branch. It's getting hot, I have so much hair, and it felt like I was lugging my head around, you know?

The salon is open and airy with nothing stuffy about it, so it feels pleasant, and the bright, stylish vibe is comfortable~

The shampoo room is well kept and tidy too. My designer here is skilled, so if you have hair worries like mine, I highly recommend booking and getting treated. ^^ I ended up pouring out all my worries: my hair volume all piling up at the back of my head, the damaged hair, wanting to feel lighter because it's so heavy, and being clumsy with styling so I don't want to spend much time on upkeep. Haha.

Does a medium layered cut alone make hair lighter?

At Hair Geurimi Eungam Branch, they cut off the damaged length and added layers so it wouldn't feel stuffy, a medium-length cut, and the cut alone made my hair feel so much lighter. Based on the worries I shared in the consultation, they recommended a medium layered cut plus a magic-straight C-curl perm.

I needed to fix the messy, unmanageable, total-disaster state of my hair (T_T). The designer caught all of that and offered the perfect solution. I told them my hair worries and they recommended accordingly, and I'm totally happy with the result. The longer hair gets, the less evenly nutrition reaches it, and I couldn't ignore the damage. On top of the damaged hair, they cut off the damaged length and added layers so it wouldn't feel stuffy, and with just the cut, after a professional's touch, it felt so much lighter!!

Even clumsy me just washes my hair and pats it dry, and that's it~ I'm completely satisfied with this Eungam Station salon that does medium layered cuts, volume magic and C-curl perms well.

It's a style even clumsy hands can manage comfortably, which I'm happiest about~ The weight of hair is no joke, haha. Thanks to the medium layered cut, I got dramatic lightness as a bonus.

How were the root volume magic and C-curl perm done?

They pressed down the wave at the roots with volume magic, made a natural curl on the lower part with the C-curl perm, and finished with the neutralizing step. Just blow-drying gives a natural C-curl, which I love.

My roots have some wave too, so they pressed them with volume magic, and the care is effortless, like a no-makeup makeup look: just blow-dry and the natural C-curl comes out. The lower part went through the process of making natural curls with the C-curl perm~ then the neutralizing step and a perfectly clean finish~ The root volume is alive, my heavy, flat hair got much lighter thanks to the layered cut, and the C-curl perm adds a bouncy feel~

The result was a satisfying effortless-chic medium cut, and it's not just pretty on salon day; it's easy to manage the next day too. They also took into account that an excessive layered cut can get messy as it grows out when suggesting the style.
