These days I spend so much time sitting for work that my posture has really fallen apart. I've long struggled with forward head posture and rounded shoulders too, haha ㅠㅠ So I wanted to actually understand my body before working out, and while looking into pilates and PT in Eunpyeong I ended up visiting Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong (바디코드 필라테스&PT 응암점)~!

Where is Bodycode Pilates&PT Eungam, and when is it open?
Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong is open 24 hours a day, every day. It's located on the 3rd floor of the Baskin Robbins building, across from Seobu Hospital!

It's about a 10-minute walk from Eunam Station, just so you know~

Inside the studio: separate pilates zone and PT zone
The facility at Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong was really clean! It's divided into a pilates zone and a PT zone, with small equipment and an InBody machine and more. Everything's already set up, so it feels like you can just show up with your body haha

Since it's such an open space it feels really spacious, and the full-length mirrors were great for actually watching myself move.

They even have a treadmill, an exercise bike, and a StairMaster, so that says it all, right?

Changing room, lockers and showers at Bodycode Pilates&PT Eungam
The changing room has personal lockers for storing your things, a vanity, and even shower facilities 😉 Cotton swabs, a hair dryer, and hair ties are all provided too, so again — just show up with your body haha

The first visit starts with a consultation
The very first thing that happened on my first visit to Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong was a consultation. It wasn't just about picking which exercises to do — we talked in detail about my current purpose and direction for working out! I set posture correction and strength gains as my goals.

What happens during the posture analysis?
After the consultation came a posture analysis to check the state of my body. From watching how I walk to marching in place with my eyes closed, using a stepper, or lying down and lifting my legs — I went through several tests! Normally you never get an objective look at how you walk or move, so it was great to see what postures and movement patterns I actually have through all these different motions 👍

Reading the results: pelvic imbalance, scoliosis and knock knees
Then, based on the analysis results, they gave me an in-depth consultation. The results were shocking...! Hearing them explain pelvic imbalance, then scoliosis, then X-shaped legs one by one, I genuinely felt like my body was a whole hospital ward ㅠㅠ It made me reflect on how I've been sitting and standing all this time, and how it must have all added up to shape my posture now.. currently reflecting..

The 1:1 session: core and shoulders first
At Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong the class was run as 1:1 custom coaching, and based on my posture analysis results we started with core exercises and shoulder-focused movements. During the shoulder exercises, my usually stiff, rounded shoulders felt satisfyingly loosened up!

Since it was my first time starting this kind of workout I was a little nervous, but the atmosphere was more relaxed than I expected and everything was paced slowly, which I really liked~! Instead of blindly rushing through each movement, the coach showed me how to move in sync with my own breath and rhythm, and never pushed the intensity too hard from the start, so there was no pressure at all 🫶🏻

Core exercises feel completely different from just tensing your stomach. As the trainer guided me through each move and explained exactly which area to engage, I realized I hadn't actually been using my core properly at all. For lower body work, we did movements to properly learn the hip hinge. I basically became a newborn giraffe ^^

Is pilates in Eungam-dong good for beginners?
Through this experience at Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong I learned that pilates isn't just about building flexibility — it can also firm up your core and deep stabilizer muscles! The coaches were especially friendly and professional, which made the whole experience very satisfying. They broke down each movement specifically so even a first-timer could follow along without trouble, and taught me exercises I could keep practicing in daily life 😇 If you're looking for pilates or PT in Eunpyeong, I recommend Bodycode Pilates&PT Eunpyeong, a place that helps you find the right exercise direction for you 🥰
