Pangyo pasta restaurant with garlic scape shrimp bisque: Andover
In short
Andover is a pasta and brunch restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi. A couple booked a table at Andover and shared fresh basil cold pasta, shrimp bisque pasta, and the last remaining brunch-size lasagna. The burrata cheese, the garlic scapes and the thin lasagna sheets stood out. Verdict: all three plates at Andover were satisfying, and the couple wants to return for wine on the terrace.

There was a restaurant my partner and I always wondered about whenever we walked through the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, and we finally went! Andover is a Pangyo favorite in the Baekhyeon-dong café street known for its pasta and brunch menu : ) Here's our review of Andover — the food and the atmosphere were both great!
Andover's location, parking, and 1-hour free Baekhyeon-dong public parking

Andover sits right inside the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Pangyo, so thanks to the street's distinctive, atmospheric vibe, it's also a great spot for a walk before or after your meal.

You can park in the café street alley if there's an open spot, but for an easier time, I'd recommend using the Baekhyeon-dong public parking lot. It offers 1 hour of free parking!

Since it's in a great spot to wander the café street afterward too, it works well as a Pangyo date course. There's also a terrace, so having a glass of wine outside on a nice day would be lovely, haha.
Black-toned interior and the story behind the name Andover
The moment we walked in, the clean black-toned interior was the first thing that caught my eye. The sleek, uncluttered atmosphere felt right for brunch as well as for a glass of wine.

It turns out this space is more than just a nicely decorated restaurant.

Andover is a space run by a family, named after a small town called Andover near Boston, Massachusetts, in the U.S. The family lived there while studying abroad, and it's where their children were born — they named the restaurant after their memories of relaxed, good meals there.
The space wasn't overly decorated but still felt sophisticated, calm, and sensible overall, which made the whole meal comfortable.
The terrace seating in particular was really appealing. I saw it while walking the café street on a nice day, and the atmosphere of enjoying a meal with wine on the terrace looked great. I heard the terrace is pet-friendly too!
At Andover you can also buy their house-made sauces and meal kit products.
Even the small items sitting around the restaurant, like the Andover apron and mug, looked really tasteful.

Any extra tableware, tissues, or wet wipes you need can be grabbed from the self-service bar.
Andover's corkage policy
If you bring your own wine and glasses, corkage is free. If you only bring wine, there's a glass charge of ₩5,000 per glass.

Andover's dishes really do go well with wine, so next time I'd love to bring a wine I love and have a leisurely meal.
Andover's menu lineup
Looking at Andover's menu, besides salads, pasta, brunch, and lasagna, there were a lot of dishes that showcased the charm of their house-made sauces.
The reserved table's fresh flower setting and our three plates
Since we had a reservation, our table was marked with a wine bottle and set up beautifully with fresh flowers — it felt like a warm welcome.

We ordered fresh basil cold pasta, shrimp bisque pasta, and a brunch-size lasagna, haha.

The fresh basil cold pasta and shrimp bisque pasta came out first, and the plating alone was so pretty!
Fresh basil cold pasta — burrata cheese and tomato marinade
The first dish we tried was the fresh basil cold pasta. Just looking at it felt refreshing!

A generous chunk of fresh burrata cheese sat on top, with plenty of fragrant fresh basil pesto — if you like basil, this dish would satisfy you.

On top of that, the tomato marinade added a great balance of tanginess and nuttiness.

It was the perfect pasta for a hot summer day, with a charm all its own compared to a typical oil pasta.

I cut the fresh burrata cheese and tasted a bit on its own — it was so fresh and creamy that I wanted to just eat it by itself, haha.

You're meant to cut the cheese and toss it all together with the basil pesto, tomato, and noodles.
With the basil pesto piled on generously, it tasted nutty yet moist!

Shrimp bisque pasta — the garlic scapes were the real treat
Next up, the shrimp bisque pasta!

The big shrimp on top made the plate look satisfying right away, and above all, the umami of the bisque sauce was really excellent.

There were garlic scapes in it, and surprisingly, these garlic scapes were a real treat! I've never had garlic scapes this good, haha.

The creamy sauce, rich with the deep flavor of shrimp, blended perfectly with the noodles — the more I ate, the more I kept reaching for it.

Brunch-size lasagna — thin sheets and a rich ragu sauce
We visited after the brunch hours had passed, but we got lucky — they had one brunch-size lasagna left, and we were able to order it.

The lasagna came with a fresh salad and baguette, so it held up perfectly well as a brunch dish, haha.

Above all, the lasagna sheets were incredibly thin, which gave it a really great texture.
Between the thin sheets, there were layers of rich ragu sauce, nutty béchamel cream, and plenty of cheese, so every bite released a mix of different flavors.
Even though lasagna can easily feel heavy, this one didn't feel heavy at all, and the harmony of the ingredients was really excellent.

Everything we ate on this visit was satisfying, without a single miss : )

If you're looking for a brunch spot or a pasta restaurant in Pangyo, I really recommend Andover! Next time, I'd love to come back on a nice day and enjoy a meal with wine on the terrace ♥
