In short
Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a flat-rate conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building 3 minutes' walk from Seolleung Station Exit 2 in Gangnam, Seoul, where every plate costs 1,990 won. The writer ordered the seasonal shrimp line-up — raw shrimp, sweet shrimp egg sushi and vinegared shrimp — plus salmon tartare roll, flounder sushi and akami (lean tuna) verbally from the chef, and reordered the best plates twice. I really love sushi, and I'd been curious about this flat-rate ₩1,990-per-plate spot for a while! So I checked out Sushi Ian N (스시이안앤) (*˘︶˘*)

The price is so easy on the wallet that I often recommend it as a lunch date spot near Seolleung Station 👍

The huge sign advertising the flat rate of ₩1,990 really stood out 👀

The promo materials, determined to deliver on both price and quality, really built up my expectations.

It's on the 2nd floor, so I hurried on up.
Here's the origin info! They say they don't use Japanese-sourced ingredients and cook with the mindset of feeding their own family (๑´ڡ`๑)
What sushi goes around the conveyor belt?
The moment you walk into Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, you see the sushi conveyor belt hard at work. Beef tartare sushi, octopus, flounder, salmon and more circled by in a row, and the lineup wasn't limited to sushi — shrimp tempura, shine muscat grapes, melon, jelly pudding and other desserts made for a varied, generous spread.

As soon as I sat down they brought out a warm soup, and I sipped on it while checking out the menu.

There's a Naver review event where you get 1 plate of sushi or 1 canned drink, so if you visit Sushi Ian N Seolleung, I'd recommend joining the Naver receipt review event too~

There were plenty of meal options too, from udon to ramen, and draft beer and soju were a very reasonable ₩5,000 each! If there's a waitlist, dining time is limited to 1 hour — with lots of offices nearby, it seems like it'd get very busy at lunchtime.

I'd read some reviews of the Sushi Ian N menu beforehand, and a lot of people praised the salmon tartare roll. From salmon to tuna, sea urchin, and sweet shrimp — all at a flat rate of ₩1,990 — the price still amazes me every time I look at it.

Aprons and soup are in the back!

Seasonal shrimp sushi: raw shrimp, sweet shrimp egg sushi, vinegared shrimp
The first thing I picked up was plump, springy raw shrimp sushi. Maybe because shrimp is in season right now, it was really delicious.
The rice portion was just right, and the shrimp had a great springy bite. Of everything I ate that day, the shrimp seemed to be in the best condition.

Salmon tartare roll and salmon onion sushi
Next up was the salmon tartare roll (연어육회말이) that had gotten such good reviews — soft salmon piled high with beef tartare. Do I even need to say it? Of course it was delicious 🤤

A classic salmon onion sushi — soft raw salmon on rice, crunchy raw onion with the sharp edge taken off, plus a soft, sweet cream sauce. The salmon onion sushi was so good I ordered it again haha.

How to order at Sushi Ian N: ask the chef directly
The ordering system at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station isn't a written order sheet — you tell the chef directly. He looked really busy, but he still kept careful track without missing a single order 👍

The raw flounder and salmon here seemed to be great quality — soft, tasty raw salmon sushi and springy, satisfying flounder sushi. If I'd had more room in my stomach, these are the ones I'd have ordered again.

I also tried the akami (lean tuna). Being able to order akami at ₩1,990 is honestly such a blessing of a price — the akami was much bigger than the rice, draped long over the top, which I loved.

Some ladies next to me kept saying how delicious it was, so out of curiosity I ordered the sweet shrimp egg sushi. Being shrimp season definitely showed — the shrimp flavor was great. Sweet egg topped with in-season shrimp, cheese and teriyaki sauce, torched for a smoky finish — a well-balanced sweet-and-savory sushi with maxed-out umami.

I also tried the aged kimchi flounder sushi someone next to me recommended, and ordered the salmon sushi again because it was so good. The flounder and salmon were both great quality that day — I think I'll be craving these two whenever I want good value flounder and salmon sushi.

You can watch the sushi being made right in front of you as you eat — kind of like a mini omakase.

I picked up the vinegared shrimp because it looked fresh — every shrimp dish I had that day was great quality. Seasonal food really is the best.
I ordered the salmon tartare roll again because it was so good — salmon topped with beef tartare didn't become popular for no reason. The combo of salmon and beef tartare is seriously amazing. And putting that on top of sushi rice? Guaranteed deliciousness, no doubt about it (๑´ڡ`๑)

Which plates to order at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station
The must-try dishes at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station are the flounder, salmon, salmon tartare roll, and sweet shrimp egg sushi. This sweet shrimp egg sushi was so good I reordered it too — sweet with plenty of smoky torch flavor, so definitely eat it if you go to Sushi Ian N.

With hall seating available, Sushi Ian N also looked like a comfortable spot for solo dining. It's a place I'd recommend for a great-value lunch date in Seolleung, a casual lunch, or a satisfying solo meal in the area.
